Kyle Turley to Play Tight End?

I spotted an article on NFL.com where Adam Schechter reveals that:

•Look for the Kansas City Chiefs to soon reach agreement with former Ex-Saint, Ex-Ram, first-round pick Kyle Turley, who recently went to a Miami Dolphins minicamp. After sitting out football for one year, Turley's back is feeling considerably better, and he is expected to play tight end in Kansas City. But the Chiefs also plan to remain open to the idea to switching Turley back to offensive tackle if and when he can add weight to his current 260-pound frame.

You think he'll rip off anyones helmet when Trent Green gets chopped below the knees by one of the Broncos?

I really don't know what to think. I wonder what his ball handling skills are like ... in other words ... can he catch? Whose idea was this anyways? Certainly not "Sherm" Edwards. Is this merely a hybridization experiment ? Only time will tell, but as much as I liked Turley in his Saints Glory Days, I really do not think he will make an impact as a Tight End, and after his njury, i doubt he will ever return to the fierce form he once exhibited in a Saints uniform.

Yah Jergen, I think I got a soft spot in my heart for Turley. When i first heard he left the Rams and was in Miami, I actually thought, Hmmmm, maybe Turley might come back to the Saints ... after all, he has nothing against any of the new coaching staff or the players. I think his beef was with Haz and others that are long gone, but I am full of wishful thinking. Aren't most Saints fans?

Not very likely he will make it as a TE. A guy who got hurt, sat out for a year, and trying to comeback at a new position? He has the cards stacked against him. I do give him credit for trying. Then again, who knows, he may beat the incredible odds and make it back. I think he has a better chance if he gets his playing weight back and takes another shot at right tackle. I am actually pretty amazed he is back to 260. I remember reading an article about him last year and his weight was around 220.

hockey has enforcers...the saints can start a new trend with bringing turley on as an enforcer to protect deuce and reggie.

He can make it as a TE. Now as a STARTING TE....no way, but I figure any team that would sign him would use him as a second TE in a double TE set or something to that effect. Also he would be a blocking TE(pretty much a 6th o-lineman), and probably would rarely be counted on to actually catch.
