Bouman Burns holes in Stallworth's gloves

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This is good. Let\'s hope that Haslett uses the quick hook to replace Brooks if he has a season like last year. Sounds like Bouman has the tools to work with....

Why do we have so many Brook haters in here. Brooks is one of the top QB in the league. He had a great season last year before the injury.

i wouldn\'t blame the rooks, there are a few vets in here that don\'t like AB either

i agree with you AB is a rock star, he\'s not a team leader but he\'s a stud of a QB
i don\'t understand why people hate on him either, i guess it will take a solid playoff run before people will realize his great numbers and ability

Just a note to the new guys. Don\'t worry about rodjmaw. Everyone here has their own opinion of every subject that comes up. Just take him with a grain of salt. It\'s a shame some people try to run others out of a very good forum for Saints fans. We don\'t always agree with each other but most of us are at least congenial about it. Most of us just agree to disagree.

I like Brooks. I agree he is a poor leader but he is a talented QB. If I could change him at all I\'d start with two things:
1) When you move in the pocket, roll out or move forward....don\'t back pedal. And don\'t be afraid to take off with it and have people call you a running QB. I\'d rather have them call you a winner than a passer.
2) When you throw a pick, no matter whose fault it was....stop frickin\' smiling on the sideline. Give your worst scowl and start hating the other team and use that to punish them.

As for this news about Bouman....I am even more elated that he looks good. I liked what I saw in Minny in his brief pocket stints and I hope we see no drop off if we have to use him than we\'d have had with Jake.

Very pleasing news.

I was impressed with Bouman in Minnesota also. It looked like he played better than Culpepper alot of times when he stepped in. He\'s more proven at QB in the NFL than Delhomme is. I\'d rather have Bouman back up Brooks than Delhomme. I just hope that Haslett is willing to pull Brooks hen he\'s injured to take advantage of a good back up.
It\'s nice to have had a good back up here for this year and last year. It sucked when we didn\'t even have a good starter. (A couple of Billy Joe\'s come to mind.)

I saw him play a few times and each time I saw him... he was a stud QB!!! Amazing he wasn\'t a starter somewheres. When the Saints Aquired him I was immediately impressed and as much as I like Jake... Bouman is better and is a capable starter. Its the same situation with Brooks in Green Bay with Bouman they had a gem but couldn\'t do anything with him because of Culpepper. You can\'t do anything with Brooks because you had Farve.

I guess I need to clear something up before this issue goes too far. Rodjmaw....you misinterpret my words. I am not a Brooks hater and didn\'t intend to reflect that. We all saw that he made many mistakes last year and made many poor decisions. I will be supportive of his efforts this year and hope to see him run out of the pocket, throw the touch pass over the top, throw to receivers before they make their breaks and avoid throwing the untimely interception. If his injury was the reason for this, then things should be much different and I will support him until I see problems. The key to my comment is that Bouman has showed his talents and is very athletic as a QB and the time to win is now. I wish Brooks the best but I expect a change when, and if it is necessary because the time to win is now.

I don\'t hate Brooks. I was, however, disgusted with his play end of last year. I realize that we can blame his less-than-stellar performance upon injury. But if so, wee can wonder why an injured player was allowed to play in the first place. This is the NFL, after all.

Would playing an injured AB be coach\'s fault or AB\'s fault? Doesn\'t matter. All I remember is the sour disgusted feeling I got viewing that heinous meltdown (again).

If AB wants to blow my doors off and exorcize the demons of last year, then more power to him. I\'ll support him 110%. If he doesn\'t, and shows me more of last season\'s embarrassment (injury or no injury), then I want his butt gone. And I mean GONE.

That\'s just how I feel. There\'s no hate involved, it\'s not about that. I just want to win.

L.O.E., You make it sound like Brooks failed all year long. His shoulder injury kept him from being productive in the waning games of the season, a problem that he should have realized was too bad for him to play in the NFL. Haslett screwed up there also. Ultimately he should have been more astute and put Delhomme in.
The Saints have had such poor QB\'s back there for so long. It\'s great to have a QB with Brooks talent under center. He\'ll do well this year. And I think that Haslett will be wary of playing an injured QB because of last year.
It\'s also great to have a QB that could start on another team backing him up. Just like last year. More promise for a Saints fan. The last time we had that was Bobby Hebert and Steve Walsh. And honestly, I\'d much rather have Brooks or Bouman under center. I liked Walsh and Hebert, I just like these two more.
