McPherson being shopped?

Reggie Bush's people have been quiet so far this year but we hear they are planning to sit down with New Orleans contract negotiators soon and plan to ask for a fair market deal at about 8% above what number two pick in 2005, Ronnie Brown, received from Miami.

In other Saints new we hear the team may be shopping the much maligned backup quarterback Adrian McPherson. McPherson was a top prep player and a future star at FSU before being dismissed and resurfacing as the 2004 AFL Rookie of the Year. Minnesota is one team that is reportedly interested.

He may not be worth keeping. Hard to say, since we haven't heard much about him since he signed.

Good enough reason to get rid of him right there. Unless they were planning to use him as a WR, DB, or RB, then I wouldn't want anyone playing the QB position that was compared to Vick.

Why even bother trading him? The Saints would maybe get a 7th round draft pick? I say let him battle it out in training camp, if he is unable to beat out Martin or Bouman then cut him loose. At least then he can be brought back to the practice squad and prepare for Europe next year...

Another thing to add, I can see why the Saints staff may want to keep Bouman around as the 3rd QB instead of McPherson. The likely hood of the 3rd string guy playing this year is much stronger for the Saints than in recent years. I guess when you factor possible health issues with Drew Brees, it probably makes more sense to keep Bouman around, at least he has some experience on the field.
