The 2006 Schedule Revisited post FA and Draft...

I am calling this season "The Reckoning"

I thought it would be good to look at the 2006 schedule again since I have not seen a discussion about it since free agency and the draft and make some predictions, I am going to make mine here and I know I am going to get ripped for some of my picks but I am jazzed for about our potential this season, more so than I have been in a long time…So here we go…

at Cleveland – W
- Season opening excitement too much for young Frye

at Green Bay – W - One word, Payback, Lord Favre melts down in 3rd quarter after 2nd INT
Atlanta – W - Atmosphere in the Dome too much for any team that night, wish it was the Panthers

at Carolina – L -Exposes our D’s weakness, the run L

Tampa Bay – W
-Brees & Co demolish them at Home, Bush runs free and Horn owns the middle

Philadelphia – W - Philly simply wont be back to pre TO form and they still don’t use Westbrook well in the running game, Brees/Hilton connection emerges
BYE

Baltimore – W -Saints are simply a better team and our Run/middle passing game proves too much for what used to be Ray Lewis

at Tampa Bay – L - Home field advantage and a Caddy do the trick for Tampa this time

at Pittsburgh – W - Hold on guys, the Saints manage one shocker a year and I think this is it...Bush makes Polamalu look dislexic and Karney puts Foote on his A$$

Cincinnati - L – Palmer and the Johnsons too much for sometimes suspect LB corps

at Atlanta – W - We simply own them this year, we played the well last year and they were the beneficiaries of a poorly called game, the Manimal sacks Vick twice…

San Francisco – W - Brees & Co run wild on a 3rd tier defense, Norv Turner offense never see the light of day as the Saint’s pass rush is too much for young Alex Smith

at Dallas – L - TO wins it for them with a 4th quarter TD that gives them the edge in a close one…

Washington – W
-A single weapon run attack is shut down while old Brunell can’t out run the pass rush

at N.Y. Giants – W -Payback #2, Bush and Deuce run wild while Horn continues on Pro Bowl season, the sports world is gripped by the Saints story as they head into the last week with a prime time date with the Panthers and a shot at a first round bye

Carolina – W -Nothing short of a blood bath type street brawl for this one, with a 75 yard reverse field scamper by Reggie Bush, a la Fresno State, Bush declared Rookie of the year, “Saints go marching in to the playoffs and the history books as their greatest regular season ever ends in dramatic fashion….

Let the jr bashing commence...I make no apologies, I am a FAN...I have FAITH

I think this is what they can do, so even if we lost to the Redskins and the giants its still a 10 win season and its been awhile since we saw that...with 10 wins that will likely be enough to get us in the playoffs in the NFC...
