Very Interesting News from Camp

I guess this is a day old, but I don't think this article has been posted. I will share some of the highlights:

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Right cornerback: Veteran Fred Thomas had a resurgent performance last season, one of the Saints' few bright spots in 2005. Behind him, the Saints have veteran Jason Craft, who can start if necessary and will likely line up as the nickel back. But the experienced depth ends there. The Saints are counting on a handful of rookies to contribute, including undrafted rookie Anwar Phillips, who has been playing with the third team, and sixth-round draft pick Josh Lay.

Depth chart

No. | Player | Ht. | Wt. | Exp.

22 | Fred Thomas | 5-9 | 185 | 11

21 | Jason Craft | 5-10 | 187 | 8

36 | Anwar Phillips | 6-0 | 187 | R

38 | Josh Lay | 6-1 | 197 | R
WHO'S HOT:

DREW BREES

On his third day of training camp, the Saints quarterback had his sharpest performance, throwing crisp, fluid passes with accuracy and velocity.

WHO'S NOT:

COLBY BOCKWOLDT

A fixture in the Saints' starting lineup during the past two seasons, the outside linebacker has been working with the third string throughout training camp.

PLAY OF THE DAY

Brees showed off the deep ball with a perfectly placed 40-yard pass to Hass in team drills. Hass got about one step behind the safeties, and Brees dropped the ball right into his outstretched arms.
Glad to hear that our quarterback is throwing well. I can't wait to see his touch in the games.

Also pumped about Bockwoldt being with the 3rd team. I've never been a fan of his and I think he was one of those guys that Haslett liked more than he should have.

Another point, one person I haven't heard anything about so far is Fujita. Anybody know if he's still on the 1st team?

ahhh payton is moving everyone around to see what he has. depth charts mean nothing right now. after the second preseason game it will they start falling into place. thats when you lose alot of experience with different sets in practice. till then payton is lining up his chess pieces. and LB is one that will get many diffent looks before it is all said and done. Colby IMO will be moved over to MLB by season ends. He will end up next year as #2 at MLB and #3 WLB. you have to respect the kid he has worked his butt off.

RE: Very Interesting News from Camp

From reading articles on the Saints website daily and looking at the training camp updates each day, Mike Hass' name appears all over the place as either making a great catch or being the recipient of a great pass. I really think he has appeared in the articles each day as making a play since camp started. Very encouraging news.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Hass gets the start for the number 3 spot, I have only head good about him since camp started.
