why is everybody down on Stall?

Last year with no legitimate reciever (Horn was hurt) to take the pressure off him, and the worst QB (other than Joey Harrington) in the NFL he posted his best season with 70 catches for 945 yards and 7 T.D.'s while he practiced in high school parking lots! Give it up for Stall....Support the Saints!

I like Stallworth and strongly feel that he will have a very good season now that he has a very good QB throwing to him..

IMHO, Stallworth is on his way OUT. Just read Payton's comments on his inability to grasp the offense and catch the ball. Now, he suffers from the same first few years of a groin injury. Lastly, he is in his last year of his contract, the FO will look for the right team to UNLOAD/TRADE Stallworth. I wish him the best wherever he lands!

He may be losing the job all by himself. The blame is his and his alone. thats all. That is why so many are down on him. we all have backed him through the years and he is letting us down now. egg on our faces. as for me last year was my egg year despite the numbers, AB as the QB, and Haz as the coach. Dropped passes kept his numbers from being among the best in football. sure if AB was threw some of the incompletes with touch and cutting the drops in half he would have been a pro bowler. but the drops and not being clutch at the end of a game is the biggest strike against him. I do not hate the guy. we are just to deep at WRor are we? he is our best option there for a trade. tough to do with herderson stinking up the place though. So till I see the rest of the WR in preseason i say hold on to him.

Here is an article on Stallworth. It appears he knows what he has to do, but doing it is a different story.

Stall ain't going nowhere. If Joe, at age what 34, 35, gets injured again, and we don't have Stall, here's your starters: Devery Henderson. Mike Haas. Anybody think opposing teams are fearing that? I don't. Stallworth at least gives the THREAT of a #1 receiver, even if he hasn't always performed like one. But let's see some of those 5 yard lazers at his feet turn into 5 yard passes in stride and see if his catches, YAC, and TDs don't go up, while his drops go down.

Exactly whodi. While I do think that our two first WRs are a very good tandem, we don't have a lot of depth at the position. We have like 10 guys who can be 3rd and 4th receivers, but we don't have anybody who could truly replace Horn or Stallworth right now. I think that Stallworth for whatever reasons does not have Payton's full confidence right now, but I do think that we just simply need him, and our offense would take a serious blow if he was gone.

Fantasy News
Donte' Stallworth - #83 - Wide Receiver - 6'0" - 196lbs
News: Donte Stallworth is struggling to pick up his new role in the New Orleans offense.
Impact: Running as the team's third receiver to start camp, Stallworth hasn't learned the playbook. At one point Tuesday, coach Sean Payton yelled, "I need another X. I'm tired of looking at him." Stallworth has time to regain the starting role, but 2006 sounds like more of the same for the consistently inconsistent wideout. (Thu. Aug 3, 2006)
