Greatest show on turf 2007

With our line so inexperienced in playing with each other and the ridiculous amount of explosiveness at our skill postions doesn't it behoove us to take a page from Mike Martz and the 2001 St. Louis Rams and just try and blitzkrieg people and run up the score?
Kurt Warner was made into an MVP this way, with quick three step drop routes, lots of slants, and lots of getting Marshall Faulk the ball out in the open.
If we don't want Drew Brees bloodied and left for dead by mid season we had better put our world class speed at WR and Reggie Bush's, Faulk like, atheleticism to work. If you remember St. Louis defense wasn't all that great as well but they still won a SuperBowl with their offense.
Also, Warner came in very quickly after Trent Green went down and didn't take much time to "gel" with the offense.
My only question is: Is Sean Payton smart enough to throw, throw, and throw again with the team we have assembled?

Well first off, they lost to the Patriots 2001. The Rams had Iassic Bruce (in his prime) and Tory Holt... 2 future hall of famers and Marshall Faulk in his prime. Might be kinda hard to duplicate that success. Hasn't worked out so good in Arizona the last couple seasons either...

I never said they won the Superbowl in 2001. I said they won a Superbowl playing pass first offense. I was referring to the 2001 season they had and put up some of the most prolific offensive numbers in the history of the game. Furthermore, Bruce and Holt are very good receivers but two future hall of famers might be a little premature. Faulk will definitely be a Hall of Famer, but it is my opinion that Bush will be better when all is said and done.
Lastly, Arizona doesn't play on turf, hasn't had a running back of any type, especially Marshall Faulk pedigree ever, and Warner is far removed from his glory days.
My point was and still is, our OLine will not hold up to Peppers, Rice, Abraham and all of the other stud DE's we play this year for more than a couple of seconds, so the blitz offense made popular by Martz may be our only chance of getting to the playoffs this year.

We haven't had much luck at catching a damn ball. You have to catch it before you run with it, hell we can't even run a screen. That has to change first.

Brees' best protection is a solid running game. We have one running back that we know is phenomenal when healthy, and another that has the potential to be one of the greatest to play the game. There is no such thing as running the ball too much when you have that. Get 200 yds on the ground and 150 in the air, and you have the recipe for success. Not to mention, a solid running game takes pressure off the defense by keeping it off of the field.

buzwa what are you talking about it hasn't worked in arizona the last couple of seasons. what is this greens third year. you don't win the super bowl in your first or second year and already it hasn't worked out. probably would help to have a guy that can run the ball too. edgerin might help with that. they have quite possibly the best two wideouts in the league as a group. arizona is getting better and i think they are contending for a playoff spot this year. they are more then likely the second best team in that division. what are some of you people part time fans or guys that just make comments without thinking. how long do you give a coach before it is already decided that it hasn't worked out. better get ready for some growing pains because i am pretty sure we are going to be going through some here this year.

I don't care who you have at RB, if you don't have someone to block its really pointless to have great RB's

That would be a good argument if run blocking weren't so damned easy. Even the worst offensive lines can run block. Just look at the Texans.

you got spkb. think long term to build. watch arizona in a couple of more years. Dennie will have a good club like he had in MPLS. If he can win a super bowl or not who nows. but the club will be fun to watch.
We have the pieces in place to start building with. QB,RB,WR and S. The rest will take time to develope. Look for us to flood the LB, OL, and DT next year. Can not wait to see who are big ticket FA is next year on the D or OL. Time, it all takes time. baby stepping, baby
