Training camp report 8/9/06 a.m.

Not to much to report on this mornings practice. Everything went smooth. Recievers still tearing it up catching the ball. I tell you, I wouldn't want to be the one who has to call the cut list. All these guys are doing well. On the injury front we still has far to many people on the bikes everyday. E.J. Kuale was in a walking brace today, not good to see since he was having such a good camp. On the other hand Chad Setterstrom was seen walking out on the field today after being carted off yesterday. joey Thomas was back at practice today and did well. He'll have to amp it up to make this team, some of the rookies are really looking good. Anwar Phillips is working hard to make this team.Mik McKezie can be seen coaching up the younger guys as does Jason Craft. Speaking of Craft, he seems to be the Jeckel and HYde of the camp. One day he's all world, the next he's in the toilet. He needs to be consistant.

This mornings practice was in shorts and shoulder pads. This afternoons practice is closed to the public. I tried to get a media pass, but to no avail.

More to follow tomorrow.

I had a chance to talk to Jim Henderson the other day. I asked him one question. What do you see different this year than in any year in recent memory. I asked him to see if he felt the same as I.

His answer was just what I thought. "Discipline and attitude!" This team is far more disciplined than any of the Haslett years. The attitude of all the players is amazing. These guys are really worried about making this team. Very few, if any feel they have made the team already. I have been to a few training camp practices before this year, but this is my first time to spend this much time at camp. it is a treat. I got to talk to Tom Benson(he has to be the grumpiest old man in the world- but that's for another time), Jim Henderson,Archie Manning and Micky Loomis. It's not often a fan gets to feel the pulse of all the powers that be of an NFL team.

I hope that answers ya'lls question. I'll try to answer any questions you guys have. If I don't have the answer,i'll stick my nose where it probably doesn't belong to get the answer for you.
