First PreSeason Game Predictions

Anyone want make predictions on the first team's abilities? Is the D going to step up? Is Drew going to throw a TD or Reggie rush for one?

Here's my take:
Drew screen pass to Reggie who break it for a 40 yard TD. Yeah it's pretty specific, but I feel it. After that, Drew, Reggie, and Horn are out of the game.

The D gives up a TD on their second time on the feild.

RE: First PreSeason Game Predictions

I'm very interested to see how well Coach P has the WR's blocking. I was always disappointed in how our team blocked because I believe WR's blocking down the field is crucial for extending gains. Horn through some pretty decent blocks, but I want to see the rest of the team step up.

I watch Brees to throw a TD. I can live without seeing a rushing TD. Everyone knows Reggie Bush is going to be dangerous, but I really don't want him to get hurt. I think we should play it cautious with him. I want to see how well Brees can throw.

My first team prediction:
A decent drive with only 1-2 3rd down plays that ultimately results in a field goal. (Look for a big completion to a TE up the middle.)

I hear you about downfeild blocking. It's a running game's frosting on top, OL blocking being the cake. I'm not sure about Drew throwing to the TE as much. SD was focused on Gates, we're not focusing on our TEs as much. I really see Duece & Reggie becoming Drew's go to guys.

I sort-of agree with you here. I'm just saying for the game tonight, look for big TE up the middle play on one of our first opening drives. Whether our offense revolves around it or not, this is preseason. All of the usual options won't be there, so it shouldn't be suprising to see Brees fall back to something he's used to. I guarantee you, throughout the season, he'll always have his eye on the Tight End as an outlet - though, he may not actually go there often.

RE: First PreSeason Game Predictions

I predict a short pass to DH and he burns the D for a long one...Then on the next play, Bush takes a toss for 23 yds to the hizzie.. Then Brees will get benched, then Martin will hit a 40 yarder to Hilton, then while in field goal range, Martin hits Hass on a quick slant for a TD

I also think our 1st string D will shock some folks, especially on the run...Colby, Fincher, and Fujita will play hard...I see the coverage men playing great pass D as well...After the 1st D, I predict that Tenn will get those yds stacking, and Harper, Kuale, and Lay will play good but not good enough to say for the other players

You are right about this, especially when running outside the tackles.
