saints cuts today
 

According to my inside source, the Saints have made their four cuts today and there is a surprise in there.

Jason Fife
Chase Lyman
Joey Thomas
Fred McAfee

I didnt expect Thomas or McAfee to go in the first cuts if at all, but that is the word i got this morning. Just thought i would share it with you guys.

and they also cut Tim Euhus...forgot about him.

None of those surpises me if true. Papz is gonna cry about Lyman though. :wink:

McAfee is the only one that surprises me. I figured he would have had a spot on special teams.

McAfee was only a matter of time unfortunately......Branch has been playing too good to let him go, There was not way we were going to keep Duece, Bush, Stecker, Branch and McAfee. But, like I said before, I see Stecker getting hurt and McAfee being signed by week 6. Joey Thomas isnt a cut i like. Out of college I thought we should ave drafted him, good amount of talent. I thought a change of scenery would have helped the guy but I guess not. I mean cmon, if he cant make the cuts against our CB's???? thats saying alot

Is that 65 today? 12 more to go?

5 spots for Practice Squad too.

Hardest decision- C. Horn or Hass? Neither would probably stay on a Practice squad

Lawrie seems to have moved ahead of Miller, one adios

Kuale or Melton might slip by on Practice Squad, the other probably cut

Did Grant Mason really stick over J. Thomas or is he gone?

Only one out of Lay or Phillips will hang on.

Sayonara Bouman unless they PUP AMac, which actually wouldn't be bad.

Villarreal, Minucci, and Josh Williams fighting for a Practic Squad position.

Supposedly we only have to be down to 75 by tomorrow. If so, these cuts really were not necessary as we were at 79 with 4 or more NFLE exemptions.

75 is right, 53 by Saturday

22 more cuts to go...i figured McAfee and Joey T. would get cut but not in the first round of cuts. I thought they would have lasted till Sunday.
