donnie edwards deadline

i just read on PROSPORTSDAILY.COM that the Saints offered a third round draft pick for Donnie Edwards but the Chargers have increased their asking price to a 2nd rounder now that the season has started...sorry i dont know how to put the site attachment on here....but it pisses me off that we could have really solidified our LB core with that move, Fujita/Clark/Edwards, but we waited around too long.

RE: donnie edwards deadline

I can see why they aren't willing to let him go cheaply after losing Foley for the season. But a 2nd is too much for a guy with not much future left. We're not a Donnie Edwards away from anything significant. I say play it as it sits.

I'm sorry but he's not worth a second rounder. The Chargers are on crack.

a 2nd rounder?...no way

gandhi1007 09-09-2006 12:11 PM

I agree. A 3rd.....okay. A 2nd.....no way in hell!

Nobody wanted Donnie for a 3rd so he ups it to a Second?????????????????
Let them keep him. Can't wait to see what we do with our stock pile of picks!!!!!

I think Edwards was on the radar screen prior to the acquisition of Mark Simoneau, and Danny Clark. With Fincher growth potential, I don't see the need for Edwards any longer.

Plus, we got Clark without giving up a draft choice! Keep them choices as the crown jewels in building to the future!!!!!!

I say we keep all of our picks, and next draft, draft nothing but CB's. I mean if we have 7 picks, I say we take 7 CB's

I don't even care!

We just signed a younger, just as good of a player, who's not injured! player in Danny Clark
Clark was less of a price and a dang good pickup

We'd be just fine without this hag! I still don't think a 35 yr old injured LB is worth a 3rd rounder nor 4th rounder either!

2nd rounder for Edwards - no way - that's not a trade offer, that's a hostage negotiation!
