Link worked - trade makes sense for MIA - they have Zach & need to make room for Seau... as long as we don\'t give up too much.

I\'ll give a big ole shrug to this one, as I care not. This will be completely insignificant for the Saints.

Agree with B&B........who cares.

why would we trade for him when he will likely be a june 1st cut

Why would we sign a bench player and make him our starting MLB?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootise roll pop? According to how much experience you have, right BlackandBlue?

Not sure about experience, but I do know speed has nothing to do with it. No matter how fast you lick, it\'s still takes the same number of licks.

An experienced tootsie guy would need zero licks. He\'d bite the damn thing.

If the guy has been on the bench, how much expierience or talent could he possibly have, the only playing experience he could have possibly gotten on the bench was during pre-season games. And that can\'t be enough experience or playing time to start him.

Being somewhat of a tootsie roll pop expert I can tell you exactly how many licks. 57 after that even I bite the damn thing. LOL

Hey SuperbowlSaints who do you think our starting lineup is made out of? All of our starting LBs have little if any starting experience. Appearantly they have seen something they like about this guy, and if Miami is smart they wont cut him on June 1st for that reason. They will hold him and cut him during pre season.

You guys are creeping me out with all of this licking. Anyway, trading for Rogers is not a good move. I think you wait and see what fruit may fall when the trees get shaken on June 1st.

Rodgers hasn\'t been a bench warmer though. He\'s been a starter since 1997 with the Dolphins and a 7 year veteran. Clearly they feel that he is not advancing to the level they require in an OLB and they think a long-in-the-tooth Junior Seau is a better alternative for the short term and to help groom their top pick from this year\'s draft. We are, however, potentially getting a throwaway from a pretty decent defense, that could mean he is better than what we have to offer now.

This doesn\'t get me excited about our LBers though.

So, lumm0x, would you say that the Dolphins went with experience over speed in this case? :P

IMO, We don\'t need him. Let\'s just be patient and see how these kids at LB we have end up.

More important (for all who don\'t like our CBs) -- Did you guys see that list of names in FA next year! A #24 Bailey jersey would be way up on my lst of Christmas gifts for next season. Not that it\'ll happen, but hey -- Saints fans can dream...

pak,

Put the cart a little before the horse b/c he is in the last year of his deal (as are the others listed) but I found the names on tweek\'s link.

Woodson, Plummer, Winfield, McAlister and Vincent are also due up next year. Not to mention the crop of possible draftees.

With the way we picked up Ambrose, managed our cap by letting go fat contracts or potential cap busters like Clemons, Knight and Hand, I think Loomis and Haslett may be setting up for next year already. What ya\'ll think?

Linebackers!! We don\'t need no stinkin Linebackers!! We\'ve got Tight Ends!

I think he\'d be a great pick-up. He\'s was due to make big bucks, and the got Seau, so I think he\'s a perfect fit for insurance behind Allen. He was a starter for the fins, and may even push Allen for the starters slot. At worst he\'ll add quality depth to a position I fell needs it. He\'s a New Orleans native and may feel a re-birth leaving the fins and comin home. I\'ve heard we could get him relatively cheap.

I look at what he\'s done and think average, and that\'s being nice.

i dont know much about this rogers guy but one thing that should be noted is that he was playing on one of the top Defenses in not only the AFC but also the NFL, and he also played next to zach thomas.. one of the best middle linebackers in the league... and behind one of the strongest Dlines... and one if not the best secondary in the league...with all of those superstars on D.. it would b kind of hard to put up the best #s

Hey Billybignuts,

I don\'t think our LB\'s are all that good right now. I think that with experience they will get better and prove themselves. Don\'t get me wrong, I do think they have potential, I just don\'t think they have the experience yet. But if we start them, they should get experience.
