Joe Horn return

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; i dont know if this move was good or bad... it really depends on how he plays over the next 3 years.. if he dominates like the last 3 years then it will be bad b/c he will want more ...

Hey look at it this way. The teams happy and Joe\'s happy. At least for now. He\'ll be back wanting more at some time in the future. At least he\'s back and saying he wants to be a leader for this team, which is something we\'ve all been asking who that will be. Now we have our answer. JOE HORN, pretty good to have as a leader for this team I say.

I like this deal - mainly because I think Joe Horn is worth what we are paying for him now, and he has proven to be consistent over several seasons... if he does not make the pro bowl - it would shock me and many others.

Stallworth will be a legitimate #1 receiver in a few years, and might not be happy playing second fiddle to the big Horn. The Saints may have to decide on the old veterain or the young stud when Stallworths contract comes up. They are now in a position to be in control of which receiver they want to keep (possibly both) and not be hog tied by a lengthy big dollar contract. This season the Saints will scare the bejessus outa secondaries and it sure will be fun to watch.

I hate to say it but I\'m glad we didn\'t lock up Horn for longer than 3 years, you have to remember that Joe Horn is 31 years old. By the time his contract is up he will be 34 and surely a bit more uneffective. I know there are exceptions like Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, but would you want to sign them to long term deals?
