Cold Pizza

So, I'm having my coffee this morning and Cold Pizza is on in the background as I'm checking emails, news, etc... They had some crap segment on where a guy throws knives at a board to bet on football games. "Throwdini."

Coming out of that segment and into 1st and 10 with Woody Paige and Skip Whateverhislastnameis, the host asked Woody "Who's gonna win?"

Woody's response... "Saints."

Totally unprovoked response from one of the talking heads in the media. What the hell is going on here?

RE: Cold Pizza

For what it's worth Jim Mora doesn't give us a snowball's chance of beating the Eagles.

PLAYOFFS?

Yeah, well......Mora's the same ***** that bad mouthed the city of New Orleans right before he left, so I could really care less what he thinks.

Mora is always pretty rough on us. He picked the Falcons when we played them the 1st game back in the Dome.

I guess blood is thicker than water. And he's jealous.

Here's another one...

Philadelphia at New Orleans, 1 p.m.

Drew Brees doesn't make the mistakes that his predecessor in Nawlins did. (Getty Images)
If I'm Philadelphia, I'm nervous about this game. Yeah, I know, the Eagles have won six in a row against New Orleans, including three here. But that was against the Aints. This team is vastly improved, thanks to a productive offense that doesn't turn over the ball. Quarterback Drew Brees, take a bow. He can make big plays and, unlike his predecessor here, doesn't make big mistakes. If Brees isn't harassed as, say, Drew Bledsoe was a week ago, he can prey upon the Philadelphia secondary. The best part of the Eagles pass defense is its rush, but if defenders can't reach the quarterback the secondary is in trouble -- especially with nickel back Rod Hood sidelined.

Memo to Jim Johnson: Keep your eyes on Reggie Bush. He's more dangerous as a receiver than as a running back, leading the league with 34 catches. The Saints like to get him the ball in space, and if you watched his punt return last weekend, you know why.

Philadelphia is favored here, but the Eagles should be wary. This is a potential trap. They come off a huge emotional victory and face an opponent that continues to play inspired football. The Saints can be exploited with the pass, as Tampa Bay rookie Bruce Gradkowski demonstrated a week ago, which means it's up to Donovan McNabb again. Look for him to have a big game. Also look for him to have a tight game. The Saints' only loss this year was a three-pointer at Carolina. These guys are legit, and they're 2-0 at home.

Something to consider: The Saints defense hasn't allowed a point in the second quarter, with the club outscoring opponents 36-0.
OK, this is making me nervous... I gotta keep telling myself that, these are the New Saints and they won't believe the hype surrounding them.

During the Haslett era, the minute ESPN or FOX showed up with a camera crew to do a piece about the Saints, I just knew they were going to lose that week. They never could handle success. I really hope Payton keeps this team grounded, with all of their egos firmly in check.

good article diggy.
i am not worried about media hype at this point to much. the Atlanta game had more than it's share. He is right about the emotional last minute win over the the cowgirls. that was the same hype we had going into carolina. we ended up fumbling that one away. as long as drew brees does not pull a bledsloe we have a good chance of winning straight up

People are starting to beleive in the Saints.
Some will have to eat crow for a month with what I have been hearing since pre-season.
