Judgment calls.

4. It's official: Miami blew it when it passed on free-agent quarterback Drew Brees. All he did was complete all seven of his passes during a magnificent 72-yard drive that clinched Sunday's upset of Philadelphia. Oh, yeah, the Saints also held the ball the last 8:26. Yep, Miami, he could've been yours; instead you traded for Daunte Culpepper. Have a nice life.

6. This is what impressed me most about the Saints' win: No sacks of Brees. A week ago, Philly hammered poor Drew Bledsoe, sacking him seven times. This week, nothing. Sean Payton, you have my vote for Coach of the Year.

... sheep journalism...

The Dolphins did not pass on Brees. They couldn't afford him. They didn't "low-ball" him, they offered all they had at the time.

..and San Diego is NOT the best team in the AFC. So they whooped the sorry-assed 0-5 Raiders, 1-5 Titans, 2-4 whiners, and the 2-3 Steelers. So?

I agree toby....i dont think the chargers will be in the AFC Championship game...I think it will be a combination of the Jags, Colts, Borncos, Pats, or Bengals if they can get it together...I dont think the Steelers have the magic this year...Bettis has practically writtne them off

When the Chargers play a good team, then they can call themselves the best in the AFC. I don't see them getting to the AFC Championship game. I mean, yeah, the Saints beat the Browns and Packers, but those teams are still WAY beyond the 9ers and Raiders.

I disagree, I think the Chargers are the best team in the AFC right now, and if you ever watch any Charger games you would see they are doing alot of things that we are doing including moving LT into the slot and having Turner in the backfield. So what about who they played, you can only beat the teams that are put in front of you, and they beat the bad teams( Raiders & 49ers) like they should have. In addition to say that the Steelers weren't a quality win is ridiculous. The steelers lost to the Jags,& Bengals before they lost to San Diego( both being playoff contenders).
