Ha good thing you weren't here right after the game. You had fans bailing left and right, saying that we were right back to being the same ol Saints. I've been a fan for 20 years myself, and I think that's long enough to have dealt with the Saints futility. Even still I can tell the difference between this years' team and the Saints of old. This is a different group with few ties to that old group. We are on our way. This was a setback to be sure, but we'll learn from it.

The playing scared, playing not to lose instead of to win, playing inconsistent and making tons of mental errors in fundementals that made this year's team look like Saints teams of the past.

I think the Saints overachieved so far this season, I felt that the Saints were going to win 7 to 9 games but I didn't see a 5-2 start, I'm loving it though.
IMO this Saints team only goes up from here, they will improve as a team each game, the Ravens was a step backwards, hopefully we'll get that step back playing the Bucs this weekend.

True Dat.
For me, anything above 5 wins is Lagniappe!
A collapse now would be difficult to swallow after the 5-1 start.
But, the '06 Saints have already met my expectations for this season.
I am very proud of this team.

As am I. We still have work to do to meet my goals for the team from the preseason. I offered that splitting with each of our division rivals and beating each of the 4th place teams from last year would show progress. Each of our 5 wins so far fit that profile. The 3 4th place teams (Cleveland, Green Bay, and Philly) and division teams (Atlanta and Tampa Bay) show that we can beat teams we are supposed to beat and compete in our division.

Of course I want more now. Sweeping Tampa is first on the agenda. We also need to win out against the AFC North. And of course I'd like to see nothing more than to take Atlanta down for the season sweep.

We're still in it. It was a bad game from the first fumble back to the Ravens by Bush in the first quarter. Payton gave the rookie too much to do.

It happens. Take the loss and move on.

SFIAH

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Lets not forget that Baltimore has one hell of a defense. Yes we made some mistakes, but I don't think we gave up at all. I think we were all looking through rose colored glasses after the philly game. They have a good defense. Baltimore had a great defense who has been great against the run and great at causing turnovers. This was probably our toughest out of division matchup. I think we have definitly exceeded expectations already this year. Preseason, looking at this schedule, I would have been happy with 6 wins. You have to look at our team and see that we are finaly headed in the right direction. We are still a few peices away but you have to be encouraged by Payton's player evaluation skills and know he will get the right players. I am still excited as hell about our future.

The fans gave up on this team. If the players had acted the same way they same group would have lynched them. The 12th man gave up. that does effect the team. sorry gang but true.
