Can anyone tell me where...........

chRixs is? I have been waiting patiently for another post by him so that I can be even more discontent with the state of this team. I mean we won, but it WAS only against the Bucs, and it was a close game too. PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WE WILL FALL APART!!!!!!!!! I can't take all this winning.

RE: Can anyone tell me where...........

6-2..
The Saints have won 6 games already this year, I'm loving this...
Huge win today..

The Saints have doubled their wins from last year and they're only halfway into the season.
WOW.

chRxis 11-06-2006 07:47 PM

here i am..... i think i am the most misunderstood person who visits this site... why does everyone get on me for being a devoted fan? i just was really upset that we came out and laid a turd in a game that we could have won.... the game they played this weekend is closer to what i expect from this team.... not what we saw vs. baltimore.... notice how many turnovers and penalties we had... that's right, we looked sloppy vs. baltimore and was concerned that it would continue if they would allow it to continue.... but they stepped up and played to best of their ability, which is what i expect.... i'm still just as critical today as i was after the baltimore game and still worry that they may come out flat in the future but seeing them answer the critics (myself included) the way they did, with a really good performance vs. tampa bay, eases my mind a little bit....

chRxis 11-06-2006 07:50 PM

i just don't want any second half collapse by what i would consider the most complete and exciting team that this organization has ever put on the field.... don't want to have to endure just missing the playoffs.... now do you understand where i'm coming from.... i'm not nearly as doom and gloom as everyone was thinking i was.... i was just being a realist, and the fact that we can't afford to just drop a game here and there remains just as true after this victory as it did after that defeat...

Thanks for steppin up chRxis .
Always welcome!

chRxis 11-06-2006 08:36 PM

not sure what i'm "stepping up" to, but ok.... i think that b/c i said i was worried about a collapse by our saints, everyone figured i had "lost the faith" and was giving up on them b/c they dropped one game... that was never, NEVER the case... i was just merely concerned that b/c we had a good record our team would let up a bit, and letting up even a slight bit in our division would be very costly, especially considering how much potential we have and how young they are... no sense in allowing that old attitude of losing affect our new, young squad.... understand.... i don't want them to learn how to accept a loss.... any loss...

chRxis 11-06-2006 08:38 PM

when you can sit back and say "well that was a good loss", you need to reevaluate your priorities.... herman edwards said it best.... you play to win the game... not to play, then lose, and say it was a good loss.... you play to win the game....

I just meant that you replied with rational thought, rather than flaming.
Props!

chRxis 11-06-2006 09:43 PM

i don't flame anyone.... not worth it to "ratchet it down a few IQ points".... i hate when someone who's football experience is playing madden on playstation 2 tries to discuss real life football.... when you've gone to practice, sweated, bled, prepared all week for a 60 minute game, etc. you learn to appreciate and respect the game enough to do your homework and discuss/enjoy the game intelligently.... not just throw out asinine references, and put down those that oppose your ideas or opinions, just for the sake of disagreeing...

chRxis 11-06-2006 09:45 PM

oh yeah, next time mighty12, at least spell my name correctly.... i'm sure you can handle at least that much....

You said that as if everyone who didn't lose it after such a let down has never touched foot on a field. Turth is those of us who have(much like you) stepped on the field, whether is be High School college semi-pro or pro, has been due for a let down, especially after a very tough win, or having an extra week to overprepare for a game. That is what I saw in the Saints. Not a team ready for a midseason debacle but one that had alot of talent, and just came out flat and could not get back in the game. So chRxis or chrixs or Carl Smith whoever you are bare with a team who has more years of experience and far more talent before we start our semipredictions of midseason demise.

chRxis 11-06-2006 10:13 PM

that's precisely what i'm trying to dispell.... when did anyone ever predict a midseason demise? i was concerned about the direction they MIGHT head, but never once declared this in fact the end of the road as far as winning is concerned... that's the illogical conclusion that everyone else seemed to jump to when i voiced my concern.... everyone seemed to think i was trying to incite the "doom and gloom" attitude of the past decade, but in fact, i was just trying to promote an attitude of not even letting one game that we are supposed to win should slip from our grasp... if the ravens would have beat us and only the ravens, i would have been less concerned.... but when we turned the ball over and had penalties galore, that's internal, coaching problems and i saw shades of the former regime.... that was my concern...

mighty12 11-06-2006 10:22 PM

I will go politics on you and use your words against you

"look i'm glad we're 5-2 but honestly we very well could let this early season success go to the wayside and have a bad end of the season and miss the playoffs."

"when i see us come out and play like st. jude's catholic blind girls powderpuff football team after a bye week, i start to see that we aren't where we need to be.... they were probably sitting back thinking they got everything figured out and then all of sudden when week 14 gets here we may be on the outside looking in if this continues... we looked foolish today and i'm hoping that it was a one week thing, but i'm very afraid that it isn't"

chRxis 11-06-2006 10:26 PM

and? it very well could.... notice i never said it definitely would... i said we may be on the outside..... never said we definitely would.... hate to go "politics" on you....

mighty12 11-06-2006 10:41 PM

"i'm hoping that it was a one week thing, but i'm very afraid that it isn't"

I'm hoping to be a millionaire, but I'm very afraid I won't

Yes I did notice you left yourself open for interpretation in each of your post with the "could be" "might be" the fact is when a "fan" says their team "MIGHT" miss the playoffs because they are 5-2 at the timeit doesn't speak well to that persons confidence in the team they love. Look I understand you were upset. We all were. The good portion of that loss was to see the team keep truckin' and make the score look decent shows that this team are NOT the old Saints. They WILL be in the playoffs, and just to let you know...................There are good losses and bad losses. The Ravens loss was a slap in the face and the Saints showed their reaction to it this week. The Ravens were not a push over by any means, and we got behind early on some mistakes. Oh well the team put it behind them and ripped the Bucs! Go Saints and there is no ambiguity about this.............WE WILL SEE OUR TEAM AT HOME THE SECOND WEEK OF THE PLAYOFFS!

chRxis 11-06-2006 10:51 PM

i can't get with the idea of "they were a good team, so it's ok that we lost to them".... what the hell is the playoffs going to bring us? and what will the attitude be then? let me say it for the last time.... a loss, any loss, is bad... there is nothing good about dropping a game "here and there" and dropping in the standings at the same time.... i don't care how much you learn from it, a loss is not a good thing....

chRxis 11-06-2006 10:53 PM

oh and by the way, i never said they'd miss the playoffs.... i felt they'd make the playoffs, b/c i felt they'd right the ship sooner rather than later, but still i wanted to voice my concern, and being this a place for saints fan to rant and rave about the good and the bad, this is where i came to do just that....
