Colston...

Glad to see Colston getting the recognition he deserves..... any 1 think he will beat Moss rookie record???

BlackandBlue 11-05-2006 08:08 PM

RE: Colston...

He's sitting at 700 receiving yards for the year, after this game, which puts him second, behind Roy Williams (depending on what Darrell Jackson does tomorrow night) in the NFC. Not bad, not bad. Glad I drafted him. :D

RE: Colston...

If I'm Loomis I'd sign him to a new contract (Mo-Money) right after the season.

Brann 11-05-2006 08:18 PM

RE: Colston...

He'll get a large contract after next season. They'll wanna see how he copes for an entire season drawing more coverage. I agree, though...he deserves a big contract.

thib82 11-05-2006 09:29 PM

It really was nice to see him step up with Horn out, and have a pretty good game. I think this game showed more of what he is capable of, and will make teams key on him a little more, which means good things for Horn and Henderson. Not to take anything away from him, but Brees is spreading the ball amazingly well, which is making it hard for teams to Double any one receiver on the field.

NO_SAINTSinMD 11-05-2006 10:11 PM

That's why he's Easy Brees'zy....Brees could be in hell and have ice-cubes on his finger tips. Hold on why would Brees be in hell? Should'nt Ron Mexico be in there? Well after getting Herpes Simplex 7 and losing to a 2-6 team he's there!!!!! HA HA HA HA.....HA

Savant 11-05-2006 10:41 PM

There's no words for that young guy.

saintsrule 11-06-2006 04:58 AM

Colston is one of the best WRs in the league already, and it is great that he is with the Saints. What will he be like when he is a veteran, and the main WRs? He will only get better as a player.

jrmllb 11-06-2006 07:25 AM

UUUHHH Colston was drawing hard ceoverage...thats part of the reason DH had two TD's besides those lightnin' legs...How awsome was it watching DH burn up some CB's and safeties....DH Fan I AM

papz 11-06-2006 07:49 AM

... the man catches everything. He's a freak.

gandhi1007 11-06-2006 08:56 AM

Can you guys say "Rookie Pro Bowler". And y'all thought I was crazy making comparisons to T.O. before the season started. :P

stockman311 11-06-2006 09:53 AM

Colston is absolutely nothing like T.O. He would have caught that TD pass for the Cowboys yesterday to win the game instead of dropping it. He also doesn't act like a complete jackass everytime he catches the ball. Just a hard working, humble, incredibly talented 7th round steal. I will take that over a T.O. every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

gandhi1007 11-06-2006 09:57 AM

It was pertaining to physical attributes & skills.....not demeanor. I wouldn't have wanted the guy so strongly if he had T.O.'s ego. You would have had to have been there stockman311. It was a long the lines of "He's bigger, faster, & stronger than T.O."

stockman311 11-06-2006 10:10 AM

Thanks for clarifying.

gandhi1007 11-06-2006 10:15 AM

No problem.

NO_SAINTSinMD 11-06-2006 10:17 AM

Yeah watching Colston is a safe bet to say that when Horn retires we'll keep on moving

saintsfan1313 11-06-2006 03:40 PM

I think im in love with Marques Colston......Sorry Ghandi.....but im fallin for your boy...can we share??? Ive been a big fan of him since we drafted him, but id never thought hed be this good. Tied for league lead in TD receptions at 7, and 4th in receiving yardage...even you didnt expect that right Ghandi....this kid is ROY hands down and a good shot for Pro-Bowl.......

Nope......I knew he'd be good, but I didn't know he'd be this good. I predicted 1,000 yards & seven TD's at the beginning of the season. He's already got the seven TD's at mid-season & it looks like he'll surpass the 1,000 yards as well. By the way.....yes I can share. We are all Saints fans & this dude is one of our brightest stars.

I think he's saying: Colston is going to surpass Moss' rookie numbers. NO_SAINTSinMD's friend said, "Even Healthy, Colston will never surpass Moss' numbers." His friend is going to be upset when it happens this season.

Just a guess, but I think thats close...

according to espn.com he had 69 receptions for 1313 yards (average 19.0/per catch) and 17 touchdowns...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/player...?playerId=1433

I would think Colston could surpass those numbers...

saintsfan1313 11-06-2006 05:54 PM

yards, more than likely.....TD's, i dont think so....we have 8 games left, so 11 td's in 8 games is gunna be kinda tricky

chRxis 11-06-2006 07:07 PM

i was one of those critics ghandi... and i apologize (about the TO comparison, i mean)... i thought that was crazy talk, but colston, right now, is more valuable than TO.... of course, i really think that having bush in the slot allows him to get open, but still the guy catches everything thrown his way.... still unbelievable that we found a late round gem like that... that doesn't happen to the saints... that happens to the patriots, or broncos, or colt, but not to the saints... thank goodness it did happen though.... it's still early, but i think he's making himself a lot of money with his production on the field...
