Don`t Forget Brees

Colston, Strief, and Henderson are getting well deserved atta-boys on here and I totally agree. And I would also like to point out the nearly flawless presentation againt the TampaBucks from our QB Drew Brees;

314 yds, 3 TD, zero INT ...... thats just good numbers, and I realize thats mostly because of the protection he got in the pocket from the Oline, but the good numbers also has alot to do with putting the ball on the money, under pressure, and many times on 3rd-n- long situations.

Brees led the offense to 17 points in the first 3 possesions of the game,.. thats refreshing.

The thing is, he's so consistent (last week notwithstanding) that it's easy to overlook what he does. He's not just a "game manager" by any means.

It looked like Brees got his deep ball back in the last few weeks. That first TD pass to Henderson was terrific. No more questions about his arm strength after surgery. He's back.

It's the one thing this team hasn't done this season. Put together four quarters of football.

Back onto Brees. I think he's getting better as the season goes on, as is the O-Line (Brown is out and we still allow no sacks). If we can play like this week in/week out, we're set for the playoffs.

One more thing about Brees is the way he slides around in the pocket buying time. Hes not a mobile QB like a McNabb or Vick, but hes no statue either. Its amazing to watch him avoid pressure and then step up in the pocket and throw. I think he may be the best QB we've had since Hebert.

His ability to sense pressure behind him or to his blind side is uncanny. I was eating that **** up.

.

That's a cliche. Rarely teams dominate the whole game. But as long as they dominate the 4th quarter like they have been dominating it, they'll win more games that they'll lose.

Two words: Poise & Leadership.

Those are two things this team has been missing for a long, long time at the QB position. Brees has both.

Tobias, I didn't say dominate. But at least one quarter in almost every game they've been BAD. I just want consistency through all four.

Poise and Leadership that's why he's Easy Breezy lol. What I like is his Manningisms how he stays in the pocket and finds a reciever and doesn't eye them down too! Also he doesn't hesitate to throw the ball away. Now if he could man-handle the offense like Peyton he could be the GOAT in Saints History.

He learned that from studying film of future HoF Aaron Brooks.

... don't let anything that you actually posted get in the way of my "I know better than thou " post :)

... I know what you mean... I was talking to the TV asking it how the hell do they let the Bucs get back in it. Too many 3-and-outs in the second. BUt how about that 9+ minute 4th quarter drive? T
