Saints Losses - 2003

I think these are our losses next year...

at Seatlle (defensive chemistry not developed yet)
at Tennessee (nobody wins there)
Carolina (but we beat them in Carolina)
at TB (split with the bucs)
at Philly (close game)
NY Giants (the week after beating TB, letdown game)

We sweep Atlanta :D

10-6, wildcard

I disagree, I think we will beat both Seattle and the Titans, because the Saints have a recent history of great starts of seasons. Tennessee lost several of their first games last year. Indy, and Philly are two teams that could put it on us. We could possibly lose 2 games in conference to the Bucs and Falcons. 12-4 with a division title looks bout right to me

Tweeky, have you laid any money down on those games yet? Hope not. Saints go 16-0. :D

If the Saints go 16-0 this year, I\'ll -happily- eat my own ass.

I\'m thinking 10-6, wildcard. Next year, win the division.

I\'m going 11-5 on NO. I think we take a few bumps early on, but nothing that doesn\'t keep us away from an NFC South title and first round bye. We can TOTALLY win those games against SEA and TEN. Do think we will sweep ATL and split on TB (home wins each). Nice call on the let down game though, Tweek. I agree.

After looking at our sked, 16-0 is possible yet highly unlikely. Which I thank God for b.c I don\'t think any of us wants to see that LOE.

Sorry guys, call me the pessimist but I say 9-7... three game slide in December.

Do they offer \"most season\" tickets, ones that omit the last 4 games? :(

i agrree dat, 9-7 or 10-6 at best i think, however i don\'t think we will have a december slide this year, we\'ll play consistent ball all year which as result will give us a 9-7 record which i hope will be enough to ease into a wild card spot and do some damage in the playoffs

Saints go 8-8, but they are 3-0 and 7-4 on their way to getting Haslett fired. Losses:

Tampa Bay (both games by a huge margin)
Indianapolis (shoot-out, fumble in the closing seconds)
at Carolina (low-scoring game, field goal late in the 4th clinches it)
Atlanta (in the Superdome, Saints coming off a bye week -> never good)
at Washington (Washington goes 1-15 by the way)
at Jacksonville (Haslett finally loses his cool and yells at some players)
Dallas (return of the paper bags)

cloner man you are a well of negativity, i agree with billy, are you sure you\'re a saints fan? everything you post is negative as hell, i\'m not trying to call you out but damn!

dallas? you think we can beat guys like tennessee and seattle but not washington and jacksonville?

i always assume a 3-3 record within division but looking at our other opponents we should win at least 6 more games outside of division even with a december crash and burn

i bet you think atlanta wins division?!

nocloning 05-31-2003 02:39 PM

Saints Losses - 2003

Not everything I post is negative, just almost everything. I was one of the first to praise the Sullivan deal for example.
The Dallas game will be lost because the players will have quit on the season (and Haz). Noone quits on Bill Parcells, even if they have been eliminated, which will probably be the case. Washington may be like Cincinnatti 2002 revisited. Jacksonville - Leftwich comes in in the second quarter and burns our CBs for 3 TDs.
We win 6 games outside of our division, but go 2-4 inside.
Atlanta will finish 2nd in our division but not make the play-offs.

Yes, I call myself a fan, just not a believer. Not yet anyway. Would be great if they prove me wrong.
We have the players to go 12-4 or even better IF EVERYTHING GOES AS PLANNED. My fear is simply that there will be games we\'ll lose because of sheer stupidity of the coaches and there are still some question marks. Has Brooks fully recovered from his surgery (probably) and has he managed to rebuild his confidence (I really don\'t know) and will he be able to carry the team once they start a losing streak (I really don\'t know).
Okay, we aquired some good players on defense and kept the core group together on offense. But we still have a defensive coordinator who is a liability and an offensive coordinator who has to prove to me that he has a back-up plan.
8-8 is my realistic guess for the season, 10-6 is absolutely possible, but anything better than that would be a huge surprise to me.

LordOfEntropy 05-31-2003 10:23 PM

Saints Losses - 2003

I\'m with nocloning. I\'m not trying to be negative, or to dis my favorite team. I just see it the way cloner does.

Well said.

I sincerely hope that I\'m wrong, that the Saints go 12-4 and win the division. I just don\'t believe that, however. The Bucs and Falcons are both scary teams in my opinion. Both of them have the potential to win the Superbowl. Even Carolina, well, their defense scares me too.

I -know- that the Saints have the ability to win this, to win the big one, more than ever before, they have the talent now. But they just haven\'t proven to me they can overachieve. More likely, from history, they tend to underachieve.

I think Nocloning is right. I foresee a record of anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6. I don\'t foresee any better than that. I wish to hell I did.

yeah sub i picked 9-7 too 10-6 at best and i\'m sticking to it as well

good points cloner i just don\'t agree that all of our trouble areas of the past will show up again this year, we had to have fixed at least one thing

I predict an 0-16 season. The lower I keep my expectations, the better the Saints usually do. 0-16 in my mind could mean division title for them. :P

I say 1-15. This way if we win more than 1 game I\'m elated!! :)

Actually, I think when we did this earlier I said I thought we could go 12-4. Buuuuut, we won\'t. I figure 10-16 or 11-5.

Whodat a pessimist? Get out of here!
If you said 9-7, your a WUSSY!
Sack up, go out on limb and say they\'ll suck at 8-8 or do a little damage at 10-6.
9-7= What a wild prediction.
If they do go 9-7, I\'ll apologize, but if they don\'t your all Wussies!
I wonder how many wussies predicted 9-7 last year? I don\'t think a 9-7 prediction deserves being called a wussy, but I see your point. Its friggin June, nobody knows nuttin\'.

I revise my prediction from 10-6 to 12-3. We lose a game due to an NFL Offiicials outrage over drunk Saints fans storming the field (still astro-turf by the way) over a bad instant replay reversal as we are destroying the Falcons, but a Falcon win puts media darling Vick in the playoffs so we\'re forced to forfeit, the 1st in NFL history.

Half the fans blame Brooks and are convinced he sucks and always will even if he eventually wins the SB, half blame Haslett and think Brooks is the greatest QB in Saints history and everone else who thinks otherwise is simply a racist.

We lose the title game at Philly, and Haslett trades Horn, and Howard, claiming they are locker room distractions.

Venturi stays!

LA looms!

Dr Z says \"told you so\"

We don\'t draft a frickin\' CB again next year.

Gatorman personally calls out all the 9-7 clones as wussies!

The Saints are going to go 14-2 losing only to the Falcons and the Colts. We get a bye in the playoffs, and kick Philly\'s butt in the NFC Championship game, then we go on to blow out the other team in the Superbowl for a HUGE VICTORY.

Ya\'ll got to cut my man Gator some slack. He\'s obviously been suffering from a sever case of Montezuma\'s Revenge. He\'s been gone a while and just getting back into the swing of things. Just wait he\'ll run everyone down before it\'s over. LOL.
You still da Man Gator. :D

Don\'t make me cry, gator. This along with the WRs is the only part of team I feel very comfortable with. The O-Line (including TE or TEs) should be a force this season.

detroit and cinncinnati are bottom of the barrel teams, we suck against these kinda teams

washington and jacksonville are mid level teams on the verge of being pretty good, we kill these kinda teams

i consider tennessee and seattle to be pretty good teams already which places them just below oakland and tampa type teams, again teams we kill

your rewording exercise was cute but not very accurate

it\'s not like i said \'you think we can beat guys like TENNESSEE and SEATTLE but not HOUSTON and CHICAGO?\'

Yea Gator, your right, I probably over-reacted. It\'s not the 1st time, probably won\'t be the last. A 4 year old baby girl can make a man hyper-sensitive to a lot of things that never bothered him before. My bad. You seem pretty knowledgablel, just don\'t see why foul language is necessary, but no probs, I\'m cool with it. Its a forum after all and all\'s fair. But I hope to stick around a while because most of the other forums are...
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t
Brooks sux: no he doesn\'t

This forum seems less pesimistic and more insightful than others.

Back on topic: I did predict 10-6!

1. I think they will gel faster than you do simply due to Venturi\'s simple schemes.
2. I think their O-line will be excellent if the sign Jerry, but still real good w/out him.
3. AB has looked good so far and his rehab is on schedule, if not we won\'t miss a beat with Bouman.
4. Venturi... well 3 outa 4 ain\'t bad!

Gator - wipe the sand out of your clit and sac up yourself! HA HA, that was just for shock factor. 9-7 isn\'t being safe, it\'s being real. I mean, how the F*CK does this always happen to us? For the second time ever we have some real talent (and this time is better than the last time - early 90\'s), yet we\'re stuck in the same F*CKING division as the Super Bowl champs and a very good Atlanta team. Remove Tampa Bay, Insert 49ers or Rams and our division hasn\'t changed at all.

We\'ll go 9-7 b/c we have the talent to go 14-2 but the ability to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory so much that 4-12 is possible. Take an average of the two and you get 9-7. *****! ;)
