New Orleans Saints

Reggie Bush has not seen a lot of holes with the Saints during the preseason.
US Presswire
• The Saints might get some help at defensive end from Rob Ninkovich, the fifth-rounder from Purdue. He's a little small -- 6'2", 252 -- but has great motor and looks like he knows how to rush the passer.

• This defense will be awful. Other than Will Smith, there's not one above-average NFL starter out there.

• Reggie Bush is going to have such a different experience in the NFL from the one he had at USC, where he had five road graders blocking for him for three years. He'll have to make most of his rushing yards on his own, on broken plays, because of the Saints' offensive line is so weak.

• I wonder if Sean Payton has the moxie to lean on this team when it goes in the tank. He's a smart guy, but this team will test him to see if he's tough enough.

• For Drew Brees to be good, he's got to have confidence throwing on the run. I don't see that yet. He's holding back.

I don't think this writer will be making anymore predictions in the near future.

no one and i mean no one thought we'd be 6-2 at this point in the season.... not even me... this team has played w/ heart and motivation, and has far exceeded the low expectations of the city, critics, experts, and fans... i'm proud to have a coach and quarterback worthy of putting on a headset and an nfl jersey repectively.... we still have work to do, but i'm very proud to wear the black and gold now, something that couldn't be said a year ago at this time....

No one expected Brees to do anything behind this O-line. No one expected Colston to be able to play nearly as well as he did. I thought we'd go 5-11 AT BEST, and that's even with my almost homerish faith in this team. I don't think I've ever been prouder of being a Saints fan.

I have to admit that I was in tears after the Monday night game, and I absolutely freaked when I saw Gleason come storming through that gap to block the kick.
