3 fumbles in our 3 losses
 

reggie bush has lost a fumble in all three of our losses. and he has a combined 4 turnovers in those games if you include his interception. anyone else see a trend here. all his turnovers come back to hurt us like most turnovers do. he needs to tuck the ball into his elbow and rib cage instead of carrying it on his forearm.

The Steelers did a good job of forcing those fumbles. Our defense needs to work on jarring the ball loose and intercepting passes. For the year, I don't think that our # of giveaways is too terribly high, but I think our # of takeaways is quite low. Last week we were up against a QB who hadn't taken good care of the ball all year and we let him have a good day. If we had forced a turnover or two from Roethlisberger, the Steelers fans would start calling for Batch and we roll to an easy win.

No the D needs to work on tackling because they made willie parker look like the greatest HB ever that sunday.... poor tackling and they need to stop ttrying to stripe the ball and just tackle them to the ground knock the sh!t out of them...

I know our team can tackle better than we did against the steelers, I think our defense needs to create more turnovers. We're 2nd to last in the nfl in takeaways (-6 in turnover differential). The fact that we are -6 in turnovers and still 6-3 and leading our division is very impressive. Our defense has been better than I thought, but if we want to become an elite team we need to force turnovers. We don't have the type of defense that will shut down good offenses with many 3 and outs. Turnovers are the key, and while we can get away without creating turnovers against a team like the bucs, when we face a good offense our defense is going to struggle unless it can force a couple turnovers.
