Wow, where do you start on this one. I guess with Turley, I think he is just being his same old pain in the ass ,pissed off self. His hot head and poor judgement cost us games and chances to win games. His attitude is awful and I\'m glad he is gone.
Having said that, I too must say I think he makes some valid points. I don\'t know if I would put it as two faced but if I were playing poker with coach Haslett I would sure bet he was bluffing on just about every hand. The crap with AB\'s injury at years end sure was\'nt candor, the snow job with the press in this years draft is similar and I can recall several other instances as well. Turley is mostly crying about Coach not standing up for his contract. I think Neocloning nailed it, Jim pushed the first offer ,Turley the baby blew it.
Benson is absolutely a cheap bastard. I have several friends who work for him and the stories I hear are horid. Screwing employees on car deals is standard even manditory to Benson. Benson will do anything he can to save money wherever he can. But after he ate Ditka and all his staffs contracts and built the new training facility it\'s tough to say he is not willing to make football decisions that are not just about money. Hard guy to figure out.
The Mueller fireing was not about money. I have a college friend who was an exec with the Saints on the buisness side, who told me for months trouble was brewing between Benson ,Felkow and Mueller. Mueller did want almost total control of both buisness and football operations and maybe some think he should of gotten it ,but he did\'nt.
The Saints are not a perfect organization for sure but I see more reasons to be optimistic about the comming few years than ever before and damn I wish we played the Rams this year too.

The issue is not whether any or all of this true. As a professional, you move on. Turley has moved on. He should shut his yap. He sounds bitter as if he really wants to be here. It is kind of like that tough break up with your girlfriend, you wish it didn\'t happen, but once you get around your friends she is a slut as you proceed to tell all of your escapades. If he didn\'t care he wouldn\'t talk about it. Although, it has appeared and other players have said that they never felt stable or welcome. Pick out the truths and sift through the rest. I am sure you will find a certain small percentage to be true.

Don't want em to get your goat don't show em where it's hid.

This is just typical Turley. When he was a Saint he was all Saint. He absolutely hated the Rams. Now he is a Ram and he wants to hate the Saints. Cry, wine and complain is what is does second best in his life. Basically he needs a life. He was/is a good offensive lineman, however, not the best to play the game. His antics become a source of distraction and ruins any hope or chance of a \"TEAM\" cohesiveness. What the Saints need the most is a team built from unity. They all (offense and defense) need to come together. How to make that happen is the real issue. For too many years we have had some great \"individuals\" but the team chemistry wasn\'t all that it needed to be. Turley will eventually tear apart whatever team chemistry that the Rams have. Wait and see he\'ll self destruct again and blame everyone and everything but himself. I wish him well in every game except when/if they play the Saints but I know he\'ll never be able to accept a role on any team that doesn\'t cater to his every issue to his liking. The term premadonna comes to mind!!!!!

What I\'m trying to figure out is where Turley in his delusions of grandeur thinks he was the marquee player on the team. Good player, yes. Marquee? I seriously doubt it.

Now D - that is the ONLY critique of that article that has any merit. You\'re right on that one... Turley is far from the \"Marquee\" player on this squad.

Oh, for christs sake...doesn\'t anyone get this whole thing???? Personally, I liked the way he played right tackle. He sucked as a left tackle. Blame the coaches for that. I\'m thinking he apparently has a God complex........
1. Players say \"it\'s a business\"
2. Owners say \"it\'s a business\"
3. A \"marquee\" player isn\'t self-appointed. They prove it with thier play not with what they say.
4. Turley got fired.
5. Anyone who gets fired is gonna be bitter to some degree.
