This might just be me, but I don't really like being labelled "America's Team." For some reason, I take a special pride in being a Saints fan, knowing that the only people who are truly Saints fans are the people who have suffered through however many years of heartbreak but still support the franchise; the only Saints fans are TRUE Saints fans. This might just apply to myself, but for me, being a Saints fan is sort of like a badge of honor; because I know that nobody in their right mind would be a Saints fan just because. There's a reason you're a Saints fan, and you're very committed. People talk about bandwagoners and what not, and that's what I think being labelled "America's Team" is inviting for this franchise... a bunch of bandwagoners. Sure, I'd like to see the team get more recognition nationally, but at the same time, when those Saints go marching in, I personally will be proud to say that I've stuck by this team my entire life, through missed extra points and backwards passes, and that every fan DESERVES to be a champion. IMHO, something about the label of "America's Team" cheapens the misery that we've all been through, and the dedication that we've all exhibited when everybody else gave up on these guys. I think this is Louisiana's team, and the Gulf South's team.
