Cowboys and Indians

I'm sitting here right now lamenating my tickets from the Cowboys/Saints game. I'm doing this for two reasons. I want to hand them to my sons one day and tell them this is the game that our team turned it all around. This was the day almost 40 years of losing turned to winning. I am also doing it to remind myself in 20 years that I was there. Waiting in traffic with my wife for what seemed like an eternity at the stadium as nervous as I have ever been for a Saints game. Going up to my customer's luxury box and literally almost running into Pat Summerall as he was getting off an elevator. (I actually talked a little trash to Pat and told him we were going to destroy the Cowboys before the game. He didn't like that too much and walked off in a huff.) Arriving at the box and being completely surrounded by Cowboy fans and trash talking snotty Cowboy fans at that. Being utterly amazed at how many of my fellow Saints fans should up physically and vocally for this. The smells the noise. My God the place was loud at the beginning of the game.
The Jones run. My heart sinking as everyone celebrates and taunts around me. Followed by the most amazing and gleeful 3 hours of my life as the visiting team turned into the home team. Hearing Who Dat ring out in Texas Freaking Stadium of all places. It was just surreal. Leaving the stadium and high fiving every Saints fan I could find which wasn't hard. I will never forget any of this or the probably 100-200 people that tried to call and congratulate me for the win (as if I had anything to do with it).
The best part was the drive in to work the next morning and listening to the Cowboy fans cry and moan the way Saints fans have in the past. I got a morbid pleasure from listening to what used to happen in New Orleans on monday morning before Brees, Payton, Bush, and Co. entered our lives.
The best part about this for me is that I will be able to join all of my fellow Saints fans in New Orleans and blow the roof off in January when we host our SECOND ROUND game!
The Saints have a chance to do something else as well. Prove that in a match between Cowboys and Indians neither are the match for a Saint!
Beat the Redskins! GEAUX Saints!

RE: Cowboys and Indians

Awesome post man. I don`t think very many Saints fans knew what to expect going into the Dallas game, and then after Jones scored on a run on Dallas' 1st possession 2nd play from scrimage, I think everyone thought we have just met a team that our defense won`t be able to handle, and you could actually hear the air go out of everyone`s hopeful expectations.... then the unusual happened,
The defense rallied and the offense took complete control of the game. Saints scored on 5 of 6 possessions and ended the game by taking a knee inside the 10 yard line to keep from embarrassing the Cowboys any further. Who saw that coming?

this ain`t your daddy`s Saints
