let's put things in perspective, shall we?
n.o. kicked dallas's ass................
we are 2 games ahead with 3 to go.
washington is the first order of business.
if you don't think payton will take care business,
you haven't come off the high of winning against dallas.
once this game is behind us with a win,
the rest don't matter til the playoffs.
i've read all the good, the bad, the ugly and so on..........
as the rest of you have.......
take it with a grain of salt.....
most of this talk, analyzing,
is just that, talk..........
we'll see who's who when the playoffs start........
then, you can write what you want..........
like i said before, this is a good time to be a saints fan,
enjoy it............
i am truely loving it........................smitty

What better place to clinch the division than the Super Dome loaded up with over 60,000 screaming fans...
If they win can you imagine how Bourbon street will be after the game?
(Cats Meow, "Saints are coming")

No way Payton let's his team lose this game because he wants to to clinch at home so the fans can enjoy it..

Doesn't Carolina have to lose first?

If the Saints win the game, they win the division.

Carolina is currently 6-7. Even if they win out, they'll be 9-7. The Saints, as you know, are 9-4. If the Saints win the next week, no matter what happens, they'll have 10 wins. Now, if we win next week, and blow the last two, and then Atlanta wins out, we still win the division because we beat them on the tiebreaker (because we dominated them twice).

So basically..... this week is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a chance to win the division in Week 15. Crazy. Who woulda thunk?

I was there in 1987 when the Saints beat Tampa 44-34 to clinch their first playoff birth and I'll be there Sunday to see them clinch the South!!!!!!

I'm curious, maybe I am wrong, but what is Seattle's record against the NFC? They are currently only one game behind us, so aren't they mathmatically still in it, for the second seed?

Yes Seattle is still in the hunt for the #2 seed, but if the Saints just win 2 out of their last three games they'll end up with the #2 seed.
If the Seahawks also win 2 out of their 3 games remaining the Saints still would hold a one game lead.
The Seahawks have the 49'ers, Chargers and the Bucs, don't know about any of you but I say they lose to the Chargers.
Darrell Jackson is hurt, he's a big part of their offense, not sure how long he'll be out but he's out against the 49'ers this week.

Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.
