If the Saints don't play their best each game I can think of a few teams that can beat us.
The last two weeks the Saints have been hot, everything is going their way it seems, if they continue to play well they'll be hard to beat in the playoffs.

They must have to bring their A game. If they do, they have the clear advantage over every NFC team in my opinion and have at least a 50-50 chance against the toughest AFC teams, i.e. Chargers, Colts, Pats and Ravens.

well i just hope we dont have to see the cowboys again, i know we killed them but 1 game this year was enough

I wonder if AFC teams have an advantage relative to Brees because he played in the AFC his entire career up until this year?

The Saints have two potential showstoppers: turnovers and the big play. They are impossible to beat when they don't turn the ball over (7-0 now IIRC). But the defense has given up a 40+ yard big play pretty consistently in every game. Witness the 3 Ocho Cinco TDs, and the huge runs to Parker, Vick, and Jones in recent weeks.
The Saints would probably be in the top 10 in rushing defense if you took away all the big plays.

So the teams we'll have the most problems with are the ones with tough, fast, ballhawking defenses and exposive big play offenses. The Bears have been that type of team at times this season. The Chargers definitely qualify. With their run game I'd probably put the Jacksonville Jaguars in that category too.

On the flip side, until last week I would have though that Dallas would have made the list. But the Saints made them look bad. So what's to say that the Saints could not make other teams on this list look bad too.

The Bears are the only team in the NFC that concerns me. It's become apparent that Payton gameplans VERY well, especially for teams he's faced before. This is why we were more successfui the second time around against the Bucs, Eagles and Falcons, and why we will beat the reeling Panthers.

We also face the Giants, so win or lose, if we face them again in the playoffs at the Dome we will have the advantage.

As far as the Bears go, if bad Rex shows up I think we win no doubt. The Rams moved the ball on them and put up 20, we should be good for at least 28. We are playing the best football of the season right now. Winning the playoffs is all about getting hot at the END of the year, ala the Steelers of last year.

I don't know why, but if we are blessed enough to get the SB, I just don't see the team squandering that opportunity, I don't care who they face.

I maintain that the NFC is not as bad as the media is making out to be. I firmly believe that there is far more parody in the NFC and hence it looks like teams are losing when they shouldn't. The AFC better not believe the Super Bowl this year will be a walk, because it won't.

That being said, it seems that on 'any given Sunday' this team can play with the best in the NFL. Its also apparent that on 'any given Sunday' they can really stink up the place with turnovers and giving up HUGE (40+ yds) plays on D.

I like our chances.

Today was one of those days I was talking about in my above post..
Have to play your best each week because there's a team out there who can beat you no matter what their record is.
Today might be the Saints worst play this season, IMO anyway.
I do give credit to the Skins though, they came with a great plan in their hands.
