I guess we weren't the only ones that weren't in the mood. I like this. It shows that they reallize how important that game was. I'm thinking dey might "open up a whole case a' whoopass" on da Giants!

RE: Brees & Bush refuse to celebrate...

This team will rebound from the loss to the Skins, they know they let themselves down in losing, they will think about that for a couple of days and get ready for the Giants.
Believe me, the players are taking this loss worst than the fans are, they worked hard all week/year only to let themselves down losing to the Skins, they'll turn it around this week, I strongly believe that.

RE: Brees & Bush refuse to celebrate...

It's impressive and shows a lot of maturity on the part of the entire team. Lots of positive leadership here. Mostly it shows that this team, which wasn't expected to be very good this year, isn't satisfied with just winning the division.

Superbowl dreams on Airline Drive I wonder? The way they've played most of this season, I can't write them off. It's a great time to be a Saints fan.

We finally have a team that expects to win -- Winning is an attitude is a good slogan for this year --

Let's admit it, while the Dallas win was big, and the Saints did play very well, a lot of things just went right for us in that game (except for TO's fluke touchdown). Every one of Payton's gambles (4th-and-1 reverse, onside kick) paid off big. That's not going to happen every week, it's usually gonna be tough, like the Washington game. And after 3 consecutive games that were pretty much blowouts in our favor, we were bound to get in a close game sometime.

NFL passing games are volatile and it's hard to go up and down the field every single week. Sometimes things just don't click. We've seen it with Indy this year. So looking at the bright side, we only gave up 16 points and still had a chance to win. Much better than the blowout that the Panthers suffered or the shutout the Dolphins faced.

If we want a model for a truly consistent NFL passing game, you'd have to look back to the '94 (I think) 49ers that whipped the Chargers in the Super Bowl. That's the last time I've seen a passing attack that just could not be stopped by anyone and was pretty much on track every game.

And even they got blanked 40-8 by philadelphia in one of their games...

Let's be real here guys. This is a good team. We have 9 wins. Yes, we blew it Sunday against the Redskins. But the NFL is so tough that every week every team has a chance to win. That's why the Bengals who have been playing lights out recently just got drummed by the Colts who before the game Monday night all of a sudden couldn't beat anybody. The important thing is that we go back to work this week during practice, and we come out and take care of business next week. Deuce had a nice quote in some interview yesterday where he was talking about how after they beat the Cowboys, everybody was talking us up like we could do no wrong. This loss brings us back to earth and shows these guys that nothing is going to come easy, they're going to have to work their @$$es off to get what they want.

Also, a good point that I had never really thought about, but I think is going to play in our advantage down the stretch and in the playoffs.... Deuce has never won a playoff game. I think he's hungry.

I would really like to see Colston get back into 150 plus yards per game situations. He has been quiet the last couple of weeks, since the injury, and I think he's due for a big game this week. Also, equal play calls between run, and pass. Initially, that's the way we beat the Cowboys, by keeping the offense off of the field, and controlling the clock. Time of possession in that game was completely one sided, in our favor. Wear the Giants defense down, and keep the offense cold.
