Wildcard teams

Who would you like to see get the 6th seed in the NFC?

Who would you like to get the 2 wild cards in the AFC?

Anyone except the Packers. I'm so tired of hearing about Farve retiring for the last 3 years that hearing about the Cowboys soap opera is an improvement.

Anybody but the Falcons...
I'd like to see the Titans make it, Young is having a great rookie season and his team is playing with a lot of confidence because of him, they wouldn't go deep in the playoffs but I still wouldn't mind seeing them get there, it would make a nice story to go along with the Saints incredible story for this season..

3 plays 6, winner faces the Saints
4 plays 5, winner faces the Bears

Assuming Philly gets the third, that makes the Boys 5th.

Cowboys at Seattle
Philly vs --- Who's going to give them a good game?

Certainly not the Giants, and with their win Sunday, the Falcants are eliminated.

That leaves Farve Bay, Carolina, and the Lambs. Of the three, Carolina's likely to win this Sunday, making them the favorite.

Hmm. I don't want to face Philly, so any of these teams would do.

I don't think any team in the NFC wants any part of the Eagles right now but at the same time the Eagles don't want any part of us either..
The Eagles running game worries me the most not to mention that Garcia is having one hell of a season..

.

That is not exactly true...if the 3 seed beats 6, then we play them and the Bears play the winner of the 4 vs 5 game.

If 6 beats 3, then 6 plays the Bears because they would be the lowest seed and we would play the winner of 4 vs 5.

What it all boils down to is the Bears are going to play the lowest seed that advances and we would play the highest seed that advances.

Not exactly correct. The Bears will face the lowest remaining seed while the Saints will face the next higher seed. So the Bears could see 4,5, or 6, while the Saints could face 3,4, or 5.

Yup.

A interesting game between two slumping teams.

The Giants play Saturday. If the Giants win, then everyone except Green Bay is eliminated.

Did you mean the Eagles win Sunday? The only team non eliminated from the 7-8 group with a loss is the Giants. Everyone else is out with a loss.

The Giants and GB have better conference records than the others, with a win either eliminates all of the others with the exception of the Rams. The Rams beat Green Bay this year, so if they are the only two teams ending up 8-8, then the Rams get the nod.

What's still unclear is what happens if only the Giants and Green Bay finish 8-8. In this case they are tied on overall record, conference record, and common opponents record. The next tiebreaker is strength of victory. I've seen articles stating that both the Giants and Green Bay can win in the category. It literally may come down to games like Dallas/Detroit because the Giants played Dallas and Green Bay played Detroit. I finally found it! Check this out...

**Packers clinch strength of victory tiebreaker over NY Giants if all of the following occur: ARI win, DET win, MIA win, MIN win, SF win, CAR loss, HOU loss, TB loss.

So while technically the Giants do not control their own destiny, they have a strong chance of of making it by winning Saturday.

It's unclear what Payton's going to do Sunday. He may treat this as a regular game in which case Carolina is totally in trouble. Or he may play the starters for 1 series.

Who knows?

I don't think it matters. Philly has gotten their act back together. I'm certain that none of the current 7-8 teams would have a realistic chance. Well maybe the Rams.
