The great one (Farve) to retire?

Not sure if any of you saw the interview following the Packer game last night but Favre spoke and was filled with emotion, IMO last night was the last time we saw Favre play, I feel though that he has one year left in him, he needs only one game to win to beat Marino's all time 148 winning games in a regular season, I'd love to see him get the record.

... I surely hope so. I'm tired of that soap opera. 3 years too late.

Come on people I like Favre but enough is enough, It's time for the packers to move on and it will not be with Bret at QB.

Once Favre is no longer a Packer the team will have to rebuild around they're new QB, I think one of the reasons the Packers are holding on to Farve is uncertainty after he's gone.
I believe though it's time for the Packers to look down the road without Farve, I feel that Farve still could play another season.

Man, too much drama concerning Favre's will-he-or-wont-he retirement. Before you know it, Favre will "retire" and play for White Sox minor-league team, come back and change his jersey number, then leave, then come back as player/coach/owner/destroyer of the Washington Wiz ... Redskins.

He won't... he's going to play another year. He's already said he'd address his situation much earlier than he did last year. The Packers battled a lot of injuries this year and they still finished with a respectable 8-8 record. Had everyone been healthy all year, I think they would have made the playoffs. The Packers aren't many players away from competing with the best of the NFC.

The Packers will be screwed next year without him... Rodgers is not ready. I don't think he's even their quarterback of the future. From what I've seen of him, my pre-draft assessment of him years ago needs to be flushed down the toilet. Another Cal quarterback down the drain.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Is the decision for Bret to play next year totally his decision?.... I`m doubting it`s not. GB has got to be considering the future in QB as well as other positions, and salary cap issues.

But I will say this about Bret, I`ve watched him since High School, he`s the toughest, most determained-to-win QB I`ve ever seen play the game. He gets plenty of attention and I believe rightly deserved. If Bret gets an Oline that will allow him 3 seconds in the pocket, and a recieving corp that "clicks" with him, the odds are he will beat you.... back when, now, and next year. He`s definetly not a "wash up"..yet.
I also believe that 10 years from now seeing a 40 year old QB in the NFL will not be such a fluke. I think as a species, humans are living longer and healthier with each generation. Hell, I`m 42 yrs old and can still smoke the neighborhood bucks in backyard football... of course it takes 3 days to stand up straight again, but I remember my dad at 42 and he was no where near my condition.
I`d like to see Bret play another year if his body is up for it, just so we can try to beat him again.

He'll be back for one more year...

But I think I had enough of Packers on a Saints forum for awhile.
