Brooks and Vick have similarities. They have both killed their coaches. They both have athleticism that people mistake for superior QB skills. They both openly critisize their team instead of show quiet, focused leadership. They both have this thing called potential that is always prefaced with "if" and "but" and never quite realized. They both have phenomenal moments and sometimes complete games but can't quite parlay that into consistency. They both will end their careers with the label "mediocre".

When your QB leads the team in rushing and sets the all time QB rushing record.....you don't have a QB. You have a running back. Too much hype on him.

Yes. He's about to be on his third coach. Say what you want about Mora's comments getting him fired, but you'd be missing that he took over Reeves' team and went 11-5. Since that year, he has taken his team to 8-8 and 7-9 with long losing streaks. Factor in a relatively new owner and those two seasons are enough to get fired. Make comments like he did and you get fired as soon as the season is over.

Vick getting injured costs Reeves his job. Vick not being able to lead a team cost Mora. Saints fans should know as well as anyone the difference between a leader at QB and someone with lots of potential or talent at QB who can't lead.

Mike Vick is a coach killer for the very reason Mora described in his "joke." When you're the coach of a college team, you have complete personnel control. I'm sure he kept looking at his backfield thinking that water-boarding would be an attractive alternative.

I'm just surprised that Mora didn't go for broke and simply bench Vick over the last 3 games just to show that the team would be better off without him. He sure had nothing to lose once the radio program statements aired.

I am a big fan of mobile quarterbacks...but you have to be able to read defenses and throw the ball well. I think Vince Young will do well in the NFL. I think McNabb is one of the top 5 QB's in the league. I think Steve Young and John Elway are two of the best to play the game. They could all run the ball, but they always look to throw first. Vick is a run first guy and while the stats look nice, its just a matter of time before that gets figured out and sooner or later, you have to be able to throw the ball. In 6 years, his career high in TD passes is 20? He ran for 1,000 yards, but the Falcons were 0-7 in games when he led the team in rushing. He is a remarkable athlete, but a below average QB. Their owner has a man crush on him so Vick isnt going anywhere. Shaub will be on the way out and the Falcons will regret it down the road.

It's all in the reflexes.

By the way, I think that the term "coach killer" should extend beyond Vick's immediate gene pool. Art Shell got "Vicked", or "Brooksed".

Michael Vick = Kordell Stewart... Come on, I can't be the only one to see the similarities here. Stewart was "almost" the death of Cowher, because the owner loved the QB/RB, that Kordell supposedly brought to the table. I honestly believe, that in his prime, Stewart WAS Michael Vick. Where is he now though? No, I'm serious, where is he now???? Probably managing a Dairy Queen somewhere.

SaintPaul you are correct. Kordell, if most of you can remember was the QB who all the sportscasters talked about. He was the "mold" for all QB's to be cast from.

Very good point to bring up, dude.

"Slash", I believe he was dubbed. He took the Steelers to the AFC Championship game in his first year as a starter, and didn't really do too much after that. Speculation came about every year, that Cowher would be fired, until he got rid of him.

Vick is a great athlete, not a great QB. I think he should have been converted to a WR.
