as said earlier in this thread-we need DT and CB. Now, in this mock:Amobi Okoye is still on the board and I would take him first.

really I want Paul Posluszny and if he isn't available dorsey or okoye.
Blades is another first rounder that looks promising.

the only way I want a safety is if one of our existing safeties can slide to cornerback...and even then I think that position can be filled later.

I think we'd take Okoye before Griffin. Okoye has nowhere to go but up (he's only 19, which means he's extremely bright as well as mature), and Bullocks was solid before Harper got hurt and Bullocks had to cover more ground because Stoutmire isn't as athletic or heady as Harper. We need an ILB either through free agency or the draft, along with a CB more in the McKenzie mold (tall, athletic, completely insane). Poz will probably slip into the second because of injury concerns. I like Griffin, but I think Okoye would be BPA picking where I hope the Saints will be.

Shouldn't we be thinking about some depth at QB? Right now we only have 2 on the team with no emergency back up. I'm not saying an early round pick but it seems we could use some youth there. Who runs our scout offense right now?

Yeah I would say this guy is a bit off the top. But what the heck the Jrs' are not even declared yet.
We need to find out one thing first. is Stallworth getting us a 3 or 4 next year. That will determine what, if any, we will do in round one. Who knows Henderson could be this years trade bait. peyton benches him at the drop of a hat with the drops. he pulls more vanshining acts than any other WR. so a WR is not out of the question.
If we stay put at the botttom of round one I would not mind trading down to the top of the second would not be so bad. We would pick up another 3rd or 4th.
Then we would be able to move all around the draft through trades to get players we want.
Myself I would go for willis but to get him it will cost us an additional first round pick to move up that high.
But a Safety is a strange call. but hey we 7 in camp last year.

I got the chance to see Willis in action several times this year and that guy is good! Big, fast and mean; LOVES to hit. Last year he played on one leg and had one hand in a cast and was still awesome! Unfortunately, he won't be available to us. I think we could get his partner in the later rounds though. His name is Rory Johnson and because he had to finish up JUCO, didn't report to Ole Miss until late and didn't learn enough of the defense to play until their 5th game. When he did, he was as good as Willis. In only the last 7 games he had 97 tackles! Even more impresive when you realize that Ole Miss plays a high school size d-line which required no double teams so Willis and Johnson always had blockers assigned to them. This guy would be another Colston.

By the way, he's bigger and faster than Willis.

This is a list of the top 15 underclassmen in our estimation heading into the 2007 NFL draft season. Not all will declare for the draft so this is just an idea of who the top draft eligible juniors and sophomores are who may come out for the 2007 NFL draft.

1. Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech (Jr.): Scouts have told me he's the best player they've seen in a long time. He hasn't said he's coming out, but if he does he will be a top-five pick

2. Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma (Jr.): One scout said he's another Eric Dickerson. That's high praise. There's no reason for him to stay in school. He will be a great NFL runner.

3. Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville (Jr.): Most scouts and personnel people have Quinn here. I like Brohm better. I think he has a better command of the pass offense and he throws a better deep ball.

4. Marshawn Lynch, RB, California (Jr.): Here's another junior who has to make a decision as to whether he's coming out. He should. And he probably will.

5. Alan Branch, DT, Michigan (Jr.): He's a power player in the middle of the Michigan defense. He is big and strong, but he's also quick. How do we know? He was a high-school running back.

6. Jake Long, T, Michigan (Jr.): He has said he's going back to school, but he could change his mind after the bowl game. He's a sure top-20 pick if he enters the draft.

7. Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU (Jr.): If he comes out, he will be a high pick. He really played well this season.

8. Ted Ginn Jr. WR, Ohio State (Jr.): He's expected to enter the draft, especially if the Buckeyes beat Florida in a couple of weeks. He's also an explosive return man.

9. Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC (Jr.): He's the one USC junior who hasn't said he's coming back. He's probably out, and he could push to be the second receiver drafted behind Johnson.

10. Sam Baker, T, USC (Jr.): He's a huge player who indicated he's leaning toward going back to USC. He had trouble against UCLA, but he'll be another in the long line of great Trojans tackles in the NFL.

11. JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU (Jr.): In a thin quarterback class he will go in the first round -- if he leaves school. He has a big arm and he's a huge quarterback (6-5, 250).

12. Reggie Nelson, S, Florida (Jr.): He reminds me of Ravens safety Ed Reed. Nelson has range and he makes a lot of plays.

13. Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh (Jr.): At 6-feet, 200 pounds, he has great cover skills. His speed is a big plus. He's also a return man.

14. Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina (So.): He's a third-year sophomore who is eligible for the draft. He would have better numbers if he only had a quarterback. He's special.

15. Zach Miller, TE, Arizona State (Jr.): This 6-5, 260-pounder is a huge tight end. He doesn't have the receiving skills of former Sun Devil Todd Heap, but Miller might be a better all-round prospect.

Whomever and whatever happens I am sure Sean is going to get the best player that 'shows him something'. No matter the position.

We need CB's and a good TE. We already have good safeties, especially when Harper gets healthy

Anything to help stop the run. please.

Hagan where the hell is Frank Okam outta Texas on that list. This guy is huge, a Marcus Stroud/Shawn Rogers type player. I would love to have two 1st round picks (early or middleish picks)

That way we could get Willis, Okam and a desent CB, maybe Fred Bennett

In FA's after this season Asante Samuel will be available, I'd go get him fast!
