Duece on the trading block in offseason?

Deuce McAllister - #26 - Running back - 6'1" - 232lbs
News: Deuce McAllister will reportedly be available in offseason trade talks.
Impact: We're not sure why New Orleans would want to get rid of him; Reggie Bush finished the regular season strong but benefits from McAllister taking inside carries. McAllister would likely command at least a second-round pick as compensation. (Thu. Jan 4, 2007)

I can't find the article on your link. I think it's BS anyway. We still need him. I don't see him going anywhere.

I don't think we could get anyone in the 2nd round that could contribute as much as Deuce so I doubt we would do it. Reggie is great but not quite ready to carry the entire load. Keep in mind that he shared rushing duties at USC also. I see Deuce retiring as a Saint when his contract runs out.

I can't believe this is true, I mean even if Payton had plans to trade him he sure wouldn't bring it up right now being the Saints are in the playoffs.
This is the first time I hear this..
IMO it won't happen next year but a chance he'll be traded in a couple of years from now, wants Reggie really takes off..

This is barbaric! Duece has done nothing but put out for us. He belongs on the #1 offense in the NFL.

It's speculation from a Lions-focused radio show in Detroit.

It's gunna happen, but not this year. But, with Payton, I think any player is open to a trade. He's not hung up on names or anything like that, if he feels its for the best interest of the team, then he's gunna do it. Depending on how he feels if they fall into his plan. Don't get me wrong, I love Duece, and I dont think that Bush is an every down back, but thats alot of money in our backfield, and eventually one is guna have to go, but it wont be this year.

is this all really happening????

Deuce is not going anywhere...he is untradable for many reasons...first of all, he is the key to our running game...he needs Reggie, Reggie needs him. The two of them playing side by side will prolong both of their careers. Secondly, he signed an 8 year deal last year and all of his signing bonus would be accelerated into a cap hit next year. Senseless in that nature because with the cap going as high as it has, the Saints are not in any salary cap trouble so thats not even an issue when it comes to paying both of them. Thirdly, Deuce has no problems sacrificing stats for wins. That makes him the ultimate team player which is what Payton is trying to fill the team with. This whole story is retarded.

It's all in the reflexes.
