Copper's big play

I dont think i have heard anything about this mentioned all week anywhere. When Bush fumbled on the go ahead drive, Copper was heads up and he was the only Saint in the area and there were 4 Eagles and he came up with the ball. I know it is odd that the one thing we remember about Copper was fumbling against Pittsburgh in the 4th quarter and he made that play that may have saved the season for the Saints. It was a huge play in the game and no one has even mentioned it to my knowledge...good job by him being heads up and selling out to recover that fumble.

Five Eagles in the area. After that play, my first comment to my friends was, "I don't care how much I griped about him before, he just earned redemption for every bad play he's made." He's been solid aside from the fumbling problem. He's good in run blocking and he's had some clutch catches. Not bad for a guy who couldn't stick with the Cowboys.

I think Boba`s point is that Copper fumbled against Pitt and it cost us that game, BUT he recovered a fumble against great odds against the Eagles that saved not only the game but continued our season. Good post, good point Boba.

Copper's got a lot of talent and speed. He was behind Glenn and Owens at Dallas, so he was expendable. Everyone makes a mistake or two; he played well in that Steelers game except for that last pass play, and he did everything right on that play up to the point of keeping hold of the ball while the D was trying to strip it - he won't make that mistake again.

LOL...I'm glad this was brought up. When I saw him cover the ball the first thing I did was stand up and scream..."NOW THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL HEADS UP FOOTBALL RIGHT THERE!!!! This is the sign of a well coached team!!!" Yup...I noticed!

Both Copper and Weatherford made heads up plays that probably kept the Saints in the game. They saved our bacon.

If there is a goat in the this game, it's probably Stecker dropping that TD pass and effectively costing us 4 points. I'm sure the guy is trying, but man I'd like to see him come through if Payton is continuing to keep him on the team.
