Payton's call to NOT practice outside

I was watchin the NFL channel last night and a bunch of 'em on there were comin down hard on Payton for not practicing the team outside since it was around 40 degrees in New Orleans that day. They interviewed him and then Duece about it and they were sayin, both in different wording, practicing in the cold to prepare for a cold game has no benefit. I feel like you would want the guys out there doin what they do IN THE COLD instead of in the warm practice facility to get them acclamated. What do ya'll think?

We should all know not to question anything Payton does by now.

Payton's answer was that he would rather have good, solid, fundamental practices where they could get more things accomplished instead of going outside. I am not going to disagree with anything he does to prepare the team. He seems to know what he's doing.

Are the Bears practicing outside? No. They have an indoor facility just like Minnesota, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, etc etc etc.

There is absolutely no benefit in practicing outside. No one is going to get acclimated to cold weather in 3 days. They are not going to get used to play in cold weather in 3 days. For that matter, playing in dry 40 degree weather is not the same as playing in wet 30 degree weather. So what's to gain?

And is not like they are going to play naked.

Chicago practiced outside yesterday, a Chicago sports writer said the Bears players ran like he`s never seen after practice to get inside the locker room. I wonder how many Bears have a runny nose, sore throat and a cough today?

Better healthy on sunday versus "acclimated" with double pneumonia.

Yeah, that was why I questioned it...because they were showing clips of the Bears practicing out in the cold Wednesday. I have full faith in Payton and I know he'll do what puts us in the best position to win Sunday.

Who dat goin to dat Super Bowl???

Yeah I don't think it's a big deal. It makes more sense to concentrate on execution rather than focusing on the envirionment they'll be playing in. It'll be cold up there but at some point you still have to execute your plays. The weather won't be the reason that they Saints win or lose on Sunday.

I think Lovie Smith is trying to give some sort of mental edge to his team. They are supposed to be the "cold weather team",
