RE: Good article on the state of the Saints

"But I won't be surprised if my agent got a phone call or I got a phone call and they told me I was going in a different direction. Then I'd clear out my locker, I'd say farewell to the fans here that I love dearly and they love me, and I'd put on another helmet. That's just how this business works."

Well-respected leaders

Horn said he has a good relationship with Payton and the two have never had any disagreements.
.....
Grant, too, said he would like to return to New Orleans next season, although he hopes that the team will not place a franchise or transition tag on him, which would guarantee only a one-year contract in line with the top NFL players at his position.

"Obviously, that's the cheaper way out for them, but I'm 28 and I'm looking out for my kids and the future," said Grant, a first-round draft pick in 2002 who has 36 career sacks. "I hope I'm in the mix for them. I would love to be here. This football team, they got to a championship game this year. But I guarantee they'll be in the Super Bowl next year."
.......
Among the other Saints heading into free agency in March are defensive tackle Hollis Thomas, offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb, safeties Omar Stoutmire and Jay Bellamy, linebacker Scott Shanle and receiver Terrance Copper

Remeber these names at draft time gang

Horn and Grant may leave but the Saints seems to find decent to good DE's, I would like for Horn to stay as well, his leadership was missing for his fellow recievers, Omar may stay along with Copper and Thomas (Hollis that is) Shanle may still be hear but may lose his spot to playmaker at that position along with Simoneau (which I think Danny Clark may move him out)

We have done well without Horn. He is a warrior but is aging and expensive. With the evidence that we can succeed with just about anyone at WR (except Colston) we are gtg.

Charles Grant is a greater need to be resigned imo.

The rest will fall in line.

I hope Roman Harper is fully healed up.

RE: Good article on the state of the Saints

I have to diagree with you on the horn bit. he is still the best set hands on the team. we have seen that. Way to many drops. I do not see Closton moving over to #1 to take his spot. Closton does not have the speed. He is best right were he is at #2. Horn may have to redo his contract to stay. He is also a face of the Saints.
Henderson is a good #3 but he needs to work on catching the ball, as we all know. I think he will be our prime trade bait like Stallworth was last year.

I would not be surprised to see a WR taken high in the draft.

I agree with the rest

I wouldn't mind us taking a WR with our first round pick... I think Bowe would fit perfectly in our offense. Colston and Bowe definately looks good to me.

hagan,

IMHO Horn is gone...he already has stated he WILL NOT renogiate his contract or take a pay cut! Grant, Stinch, Thomas (Hollis), Copper, and Shanle will be resigned. Harper and Nickovich rehabs going very well and both will return with a vengence. Saints look to a CB in FA and LB in the draft along with a TE. I don't see all the castoffs back at TE, NO PRODUCTION. Omar along with F. Thomas GONE. Craft in jeopardy, but Gleason is back due to his ST. Beerman, has seen his last game...too tentative on returns (fumble did not help).

Allen (LB), what has he done in the last few years? NOTHING. Where is Fincher (LB) in his development? Personally, I think Clark is a keeper, but not sure the coaches share the same opinion (theres does and my does NOT).

Do you still think it will be a 3rd for Stallworth? I hear the Eagles are in negotiations.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!
