Are you kicking yourself if you're Sean Payton?

In worse conditions, under more pressure. With the same number of turnovers.

Run up the middle. Pass underneath. Keep the safeties over the top. Force Grossman to make a play.

Who'd a thunk those key strategies would result in a win.

We did.

I see what you are saying XAN, but I really think we showed the Colts What Not To Do against the Bears. I agree in the simplicity of the way they beat them, but woulda, coulda, and shoulda.....

I don't think Payton is kicking himself. First of all I don't think you can second-guess if you're an NFL head coach. You do what you do.

Payton's gameplan wasn't the problem. Turnovers were. If we don't fumble the ball away and give up a safety, we win that game, simple as that. We could've run all day but if we turn it over that many times we lose. You can have the best gameplan in the world but it doesn't mean a thing once you give the ball up. Like that Mike Tyson quote, "Everyone has a plan until they get hit".

And true enough the Colts turned it over yesterday, but so did the Bears, so it was a wash. Bears didn't turn it over at all against us, if I'm not mistaken. The rule almost never fails; win the turnover battle and you win the game.

And you're comparing us to the Colts offense. True we were ranked higher, but I don't think anyone is kidding themselves that we have a better offense than them. Brees is a great QB, but Manning could go down as the best ever. Marvin is a future HOF-er. Reggie Wayne could be a #1 reciever for most teams in the league. Great o-line. We are good no doubt, but not as good as the Colts. That offensive unit has been together much longer and it shows.

No Payton isn't kicking himself. We have a young team and too bright of a future ahead of us to starting thinking what might have been. Again, no one thought we would have gotten that far in the first place, so we should keep that in perspective.

I have to agree 100%. we do not have the OL, WR or secondary. As a whole the team must get better. We have a nice start but not there yet

I excepted the loss and now getting ready for Fa's & the draft.
We lost to the Bears because they simply out played us, do I think the Saints are a better team compared to the Bears?. golly gees yes I do but not on the day we lost..
The NFC better watch out for the Saints next season because they will be improved going into the next season...

BTW...Grossman sucks, do any of you think he'll be the starter next season for the Bears?, I don't see it..

While Hine Sight is 20/20, I must agree that the mistakes cost us against the bears. The turnovers, the kick off out of bounds, dropped balls...(don't get me started on the M Lewis Ref-blunder fumble)......it all adds up. I'm ready for next year right now. We should do well. Only 180 days till pre-season games.

Remember that we close the thrid quarter 14-18 but the turning point was before that when we missed the FG and the Bears punt from great field position which backed up us near the end zone. Because of that and the poor calling to pass near the end zone, we should run Deuce period.
I think we should had run the ball more and dump the ball more to our running backs when their defense coverd deep. But turn overs did cost the saints the ball game. Now let us not look back but forward to the next season and what the saints need to do to be better team.

Need to get CB for sure, need to get MLB, Need to get TE.
Resign Grant, Stinchcomb, Shanle, H. Thomas, T. Cooper.
