Awww yeah, it's hypothetical time...

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; OK, so here's the deal. The Raiders call us up one day before the draft and make a deal: our second round pick for Randy Moss. Do you take it? I sure as hell do. I still think this guy ...

Do you take it? I sure as hell do. I still think this guy is the best in the league, and if he could have a QB who can actually throw him the ball, he'd be motivated. But maybe a second is too much. Anyways, I've always liked Randy Moss, and I would get a chubby if we landed him. Thoughts?

Can't stand the guy. I don't put him in the same sentence as Marvin Harrison or a few others. He's a bad attitude, lack of class turd. But with that said, I give up a second in a heartbeat for him. He has more talent than anyone we could draft in that round. The problem is he's a deep ball catcher and that's not really our game. I think Payton is the type that could handle him and motivate him. He'd be worth the gamble.

He is one of my favorite players, who is not on the Saints, so yes I would like it if they got him. I do not hate players.

Nope. Not a chance.

The one thing that Payton taught me last season is that you'll be more successful with undertalented character guys than the opposite. And Moss has a ton of talent but wouldn't know character if it slapped him in the face.

Leave him right there in the black hole that he's in.

That's my thought.

RE: Re: Awww yeah, it

Randy would have to turn over a new leaf. If we lose a game and he didn't get his touches, he'd have to take it like a man and keep his mouth shut and keep playing hard. He'd also have to quit mailing it in on plays where we are running the ball to the other side of field or he is not a primary receiver. I think he's capable of changing these things because he's a veteran and at some point here real soon it may click with him that if he wants to win, he's got to make a more concerted effort to put the team first. I think he has it in him, but it's quite a bit to ask in one year.

With Brees at QB and Payton calling the shots, Randy would workout well here, but not a second round. Maybe a third.

See I think if you look at the coaches he's played for, none of them have been real good motivators. None of them have been willing to get up in his face and eat his lunch. I think Payton would, and that's why I think he'd be great here. I think he would flourish in N.O. And our WR depth is shaky, at best. Imagine having Colston, him, and Henderson in on a 3 WR set. That's just sick nasty.

If Moss did not like payton in his face he would give it back. he has done it time and time again in minnesota. Even winning did nothing to change him. Thats why he got dumped. In Oakland he sits on his "pitty potty" and crys to reporters. Hmm at his age do you think he would change? not!
If his contract had a clause about behavior then sure. other than that no way.

I would take him as long as his contract was incentive driven and if he started making trouble the Raiders would have to take him back and give us their #1 next year.
