Grant for Bly?

Since Charles Grant is "under-paid," I think we should at least see what we can get for him. Grant is a pretty vocal guy so he might present some off field distractions. I know the Lions are in need of a DE so maybe Dre Bly and a 3 rd pick may be an option.

RE: Grant for Bly?

I'm not sure whether Grant is worth the trouble.

We fill one hole at CB while creating another hole at CB. Unless we sign a replacement for Grant first, I wouldn't consider it. Games are won in the trenches, and Grant is a great weapon we have down there. There are corners out there that may not be as good as Bly, but cheaper and still solid while not losing a big part of our D.

I do not think so. Grant is good player and we need to get great CB without losing Grant.

Grant is the linchpin of the D. Why do people want to unload people soon as they get established as good players here? And he's not going to be underpaid this year, that's for sure.

Off the field distractions? I don't think so. This guy is more of a New Orleans Saint than anybody on the roster. This guy has bled black and gold ever since he got here. He brings more emotion than half the guys on the field, and twice as much as a few. He's played his butt off on incompetent teams for years, and now that it's time to give him what he DESERVES, people wanna bail on him and make up things about him like he's a "distraction" or he's not worth the money. BS. I'm pissed we gave him the tag because I think he deserves a long-term deal. Hopefully the tag is just a "bargaining extension" and we can sign him sometime this season.

Oh by the way, Dre Bly has about 1/8 the value of Grant. If you can't put a rush on the QB, I don't care if you got Champ Bailey back there, you're gonna get burned.
