I have read and heard everyone's predicions and expectations about what team is going to do what. I have even given mine. But I hear the predictions every year. The facts are that everyone is usually wrong. Predictions aren't like what they use to be..(i.e., Cowboys and 49'ers in the NFC and Bills and Steelers in the AFC)

I laugh everytime I hear one of the so-called-experts say something negitive about the Saints. For anyone who is paying any attention to the experts, I would let it go in one ear and out the other.

It's a good thing for them they don't get paid on job performance.

I hear all the experts and blackandgold members salivating over what Mike Vic is going to do this year and questing what Aaron Brooks is going to do? Why? Vick has proven less than Brooks, if for no other reason than he's only played one year. Vic could absolutely flop this year. Don't put Vic in the Hall of Fame just yet.

No one is really going have any kind of feel for how any of the teams are going to do until about week # 8 of the upcoming season.

One prediction I heard midway through last year has me quite encouraged,
The experts were surprised at how well the Saints were playing and commented that a VERY YOUNG and REBUILDING team like the Saints usually need a couple of years to fully mature. Next year (he meant 2003) should be the year they blossom into a contender.
I wish I could remember who said that. I think it was one of the NFL Tonight guys like Jaws or Malone. It may have been one of the Sunday color guys.

Should\'a, Could\'a, Would\'a is now SHALL, CAN, and WILL

Tweeky,

Sterling Sharpe was predicting the Saints in the Superbowl at about the midway point of last season......If you follow the Saints and do your homework and it seems like you do, I have as much faith in your Saints prediction as I do anyones.

I agree that predictions are hard to do and even people who do it professionally are wrong more times than they would like.
However I don\'t get such negative predictions from the \"experts\" (unless you call my 8-8 negative). The Saints are expected to have a mediocre to good season. And are we salviating over Vick? About half the members hear think his career will be ended or at least put in jeopardy by a hard hit (a la Ronnie Lott) or a cheap shot (a la Warren Sapp) in the next two seasons. However you can hardly dispute the fact he is an exciting player right now and that has been stated here several times as well. Doesn\'t mean you think that he will be more effective or simply \"the better quarterback\" compared to Brooks.

About 3/4 of the teams appear to be 8-8 as of right now......so yeah I look at it as negitive. Any team that doesn\'t make the playoffs will have a bad season.

As far as the Vic thing goes. He could be Superman or Clark Kent, but until Superman shows he has no krytonite, then the jury is still out, as far as I\'m concerned.

But predictions and Vick lovers and Brooks haters and such are what make the off season worth being part of.

First off, you need a good coach, and to say that Jim Haslett is a great coach would be and understatement. This guy is a pure genius, and knows every \"next move\" of the team he is playing. He is so unpredictable with his calls, and is an intense former linebacker.

I hate to point fingers like everyone seems to be doing lately at Aaron Brooks, but they are right for pointing the fingers that way. Brooks is not intense enough about the game, and at times is SCARED! That\'s right, our leader on the field is SCARED...scared to run when there\'s room, scared to step up in the pocket, etc.

With the weapons he has, there is no reason he should not be a Pro-Bowl Quarterback, and playoff leader, but he needs to grow some ballz and step up.

And why is this thread the right one for your opinion about Brooks and Haz? The last Brooks-bashing free thread on the board. Sigh ...
Troll?

When I see another teams receiver blow right by Irvin and Knight was half the field away but trying to catch up I too know the opposing teams next move.....they throw the ball to the WIDE OPEN receiver and SCORE a TOUCHDOWN. So I guess me and Haz are both a genious!!!!!!
Haz is a good coach but I wouldn\'t go so far as to say he is a genious???? come on atleast be real.
