Duncan on Saints (LB/WR/OT)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; So who do they have at WLB now then Billy? Is that guy better or worse than Rodgers? If he is better, why didn\'t he start over Rodgers last season?...

You\'ve kind of contradicted yourself because in past posts you\'ve stated that talent wins out every time and that you adjust a system to fit a players abilities. You then went on to say that they let him go because they found a player that better suited their system.
The Fins now have Seau at WLB and he couldn\'t have started for them last year because he wasn\'t there. They just couldn\'t get Rodgers to play the position like they needed him to. That doesn\'t mean he doesn\'t have good defensive skills in other aspects of defense.

I think if you look at my past posts that I admitted that it works both ways. You adjust your system to the players somewhat and players to the system.

The Dolphins traded Rodgers and went with the player they felt better about and I never said Rodgers doesn\'t have skills.

um rodgers was replaced by future hall of famer junior seau

rodgers salary was too big for a backup LB, the guy has been a starter on a great defense for years but who wouldn\'t replace a solid player with a hall of famer?

wouldn\'t you trade duece for barry sanders?

it doesn\'t surprise me in the least that rodgers is already slated to start, i was afraid they weren\'t going to give him the chance

I am excited about the players we added on defense with experience and leadership. I think the Saints defense will be a lot better than last year, which in turn will make the offense better towards the end of the year.

TIME OUT!!!!! You would replace the NFC\'s leading rusher last year... a guy who is what 24?? with any runningback Barry Sander\'s age... ?????

Oh my God I think my brain just exploded... are you f---ing serious?

Would you replace Peerless Price with Jerry Rice? How about Brooks with Steve Young? That may be the most asinine thing I\'ve ever heard on this board...
