The Ravens get someone who is a proven pro, and they get him while their window of opportunity is still open. The argument , 'you don't trade for a RB' is well thought out but not the rule.

Why pass on a guy who can play for someone who can't?
EVER
Let's put it this way, who's in a better situation, Buffalo or Baltimore?

RE: McGahee deal

I'd side with Buffalo. I don't see McGahee as much of an upgrade given the Ravens o-line is deteriorating this year. Add to that Willis is a piece of crap as a person and yapped his way out of Buffalo. A-Train performed as well as McGahee did in Buffalo last year and there's a plethora of RB's around to be had cheap. Cheaper than McGahee's money. Those 3 picks can be used to position themselves for other players they want in the draft or via trade. Consider we got a 3rd and Simoneau for Donte. I'd put McGahee in the same caliber of player even if it's a different position, and 2 3rd's and a 7th is decent return for a team still building. They're no worse without McGahee.

I think this is a win/win. Baltimore wasn't going to get better with anyone else at RB. Lewis was gone. Buffalo gets some extra picks. 2 third rounders is pretty good. That should pay off down the road for them. So, who is Buffalo's RB now?
