I am all for having a longer season, more games, just makes the best time of the year last a bit longer. The problem I have is those are our teams. If other countries want American football let them get there own.

I don't think I would have a problem lets say each NFL team adopts a country as there second home so they would have a home game say for the Ukraine Saints. LOL. They would play there every other year because the road game would be say playing against the Ethopia Falcons.

A 17th regular season game would be a little taxing on the players, in my opinion. I know it's only "one more game", but you gotta draw the line. Take the 05 Steelers: 4 preseason games, 16 reg. season games and 4 playoff games for a total of 24 games. That's a lot of oportunity for injury.

As for the international games, I'm all for it (just not the SB). Ideally, it would raise the profile of American Football in other countries and possibly build the sport.

It would be most effective in other countries that already have pro teams - like NFL Deutschland - that American teams could go play in a exhibition format. I'm reminded of Chelsea playing the MLS allstars in Chicago and FC Barcelona playing Chivas last year. It was a tune up for Chelsea and Barca and totally meaningless, but still interesting and fun nonetheless. Plus the local fans get to see guys like Ronaldinho and Lampard in action. It's a win/win.

In the long run, maybe more kids start playing the sport and the pool of NFL players deepens.

PS - Reggie Bush would have been the greatest soccer player ever.

This would be huge money for the NFL. That game in London had 100,000+ requests for tickets. One good thing is that they are looking at 3-4 games in each city. There are a lot of soccer stadiums that could handle the crowds.

I'm all for an extra regular season game, no matter where it is. The better team will still have the advantage, and it will all look the same on my TV.

There would be plenty of interest, just like those soccer matches here. Chelsea and FC Rangers are playing in LA this year, giving Americans a chance to see players they most likely never would have otherwise.

Same thing goes in Europe. 100,000 tickets to see the Dolphins at Wembley? That's double what they would draw in Miami.

If they increase the games in the season, then I hope they increase the amount of players on the teams. From a 53 man roster to a 58 man roster.

Makes sense to me.

I agree, but 5 more spots might be expensive, what, $4.5 mill plus? I wonder what each team's financial take is from these games abroad.

The Player's union would definitely fight for at least a couple more spots, which would really benefit everybody. You might even see the draft go up to 10 rounds.

A couple of things I'd rather see along these lines are: A 53 man roster without worrying about acive/inactive. It doesn't make any sense to me why they can have 53 on the team, but only like 48 can be active on game day. The other is schedule-wise I'd rather see all teams get their bye weeks on the same week. So, the NFL takes a week off it's no big deal and it gives all teams the same chance to get healthy and rested.

17 game season is a long time -- If you're gonna do that, then it makes sense to open up your practice roster. If you're playing in the Ukraine or against those hated Ethiopia Falcons, I'ld like to bring 53 to play!
