Falcons | Animal control officer confident Vick was at dog fights
Tue, 15 May 2007 21:07:23 -0700

ESPN.com reports investigators do not agree with Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick that he was rarely at the Virginia house he owned where officials have found evidence of dog fighting. Vick also said he never took part in the practice, but the animal control coordinator for the City of Chesapeake in Virginia told Yahoo.com she has spoken with individuals who can "put Vick on that property" during matches. Kathy Strouse, the animal control coordinator, says she is "very confident" that Vick will be tied directly to the dog fighting on the property, and has challenged Surry County Commonwealth attorner Gerald Poindexter to bring charges. "He [Poindexter] was at the home and saw the equipment that we seized. When we were there, he said he had enough right there to issue an indictment. He didn't say who he would indict, but he said he had enough," Strouse said. Strouse indicated

An investigator told WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Va., that a meeting has been requested with Poindexter to review evidence, but Poindexter said that they have not requested a meeting a with him.

oh, and how much are these tapes worth to vick?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_yl...yhoo&type=lgns

SapperSaint 05-16-2007 03:09 PM

Being a former Police officer,

They already have enough proof to put Vick at the scene. If they do he should be done for in the NFL.

SoulStar 05-16-2007 04:14 PM

You want Vick washed out of the NFL for this? I dont care for the Vick as a quarterback, but you really want him gone for the NFL?

More than that house he sold.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18619245/

Did you see that he only donated $10,000 to VaTech but willingly took a $300,000+ bath on that house?

SapperSaint 05-16-2007 04:26 PM

Don't get me wrong.

Maybe I should have worded that differently.

I could give a crap less about Vick.

However,

The NFL will be forced to do something. If, IF it is proved that he he did knowingly and willfully participate in dog fighting, not only will the state and federal laws get him, but the animal rights folks and PETA will demand he be kick out.

Now, if you don't think PETA and animal rights wackos will do that, you may want to read some of their pamhlets.

scott406 05-16-2007 04:43 PM

Who is the back up in ATL, Chris Redman? hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Watch how many members of the "media" start to carry water for Vick
For example, Jamie Dukes said on NFLN's Total Access that he won't believe that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is involved with dog fighting until he sees a cell-phone photograph of Vick at a dog fight.

It will be interesting to see what Godell does with this. Vick is one of the biggest names in Football and one of the best selling jerseys. There is no requirement that a player be convicted of or even charged with a crime before he is disciplined under the Personal Conduct Policy. Article XI of the Collective Bargaining Agreement authorizes the Commissioner to impose a fine or suspension for any "conduct detrimental to the integrity of, or public confidence in, the game of professional football."

Surry County prosecutor Gerald Poindexter has not filed any charges on Vick and continues to say he views Vick as nothing more than a property owner.

Chris Redman hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Joey Harrington, Right?

hagan714 05-16-2007 04:47 PM

PETA is a bread right?
Seriously if he does get convicted he will be made thier poster child. They are a group I would not want after me. They are ruthless. They believe what you do to an animal the same should happen to you. You picked your punishment. Imagine them in Atlanta at the home games. Now that would be worth the price of a flight to see.
SapperSaint is there some serious time involved if he is found guilty ?

scott406 05-16-2007 04:48 PM

I expect Vick to be gone for 4 games. Unfortunately we don't play them until week 7.
I forgot they signed Joey Harrington
hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe Redman will play
hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Falcons | Tape of Vick at dogfight allegedly exists
Wed, 16 May 2007 15:31:25 -0700

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports a person investigating the case involving Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick said there is allegedly a tape that exists that shows Vick at a dogfight.

ssmitty 05-16-2007 07:28 PM

oh well..........

cousin brooks won the lottery for about 5 million last yr....(in oakland i heard)
i'm sure he'll take care of cousin vick............

SoulStar 05-16-2007 08:39 PM

he is the highest paid player in the NFL, I dont think cousin brooks will need to bail him out money wise on this one.

I'm no lawyer, but......

The biggest thing is that he IS/WAS the property owner at the time of the fights. The fact that he has a web site soley for the purpose of selling and breeding pitbulls, does not swing in his favor. As far as jail time goes.... who knows. I saw on the news where a guy living in south Mississippi was given 5 years for the same thing Vick "Vick has yet to be" arrested for.

I'm telling you guys now. With the way America thinks......if Vick is involved...
his NFL career is over.

redjem25 05-17-2007 08:41 AM

I am totally disgusted by this. I have actively supported the SPCA and LISA. If you have ever been to shelters (which I have) and see these poor animals that where left on the streets or abused, its heartbreaking. They cannot defend themselves. They rely on their owners or caretakers. Vick, as owner of the property needs to be held responsible somehow but if its proven that he knew about it and even participated.......................
I want jail time, a BIG fine and a one year suspension AT LEAST! and I personally don't care if he ever steps foot on a football field again, even as the waterboy.

scott406 05-17-2007 09:23 AM

In this country you are innocent until proven guilty, except for the NFL. It will be interresting to see how Goodell handles this one. Pac-Man and Chris Henry are not superstars, they don't generate the amount of cash Vick does. To see Vick gone for a year is probably not going to happen, although he deserves it. I think 4 games unless we see a video of him at the dog fights on the news.
It is getting worse for Vick as we speak:

The NFL isn't a court of law and doesn't have to judge him guilty of crimes to punish him for disgracing himself, his team and the league. I don't believe most of us are naive enough to think that when someone is acquitted of a crime that that person was, in fact, innocent. There are many factors that could go into whay a guuilty person could go free. I much prefer having a strong commissioner delving out punishments for bad conduct rather than just letting players off the hook because they have the wealth to purchase acquittals.

First of all is was being facetious.
2nd Vick is involved no doubt about that, and it will be interesting to see what Godell does to one of the top stars of the league. According to
Article XI of the Collective Bargaining Agreement authorizes the Commissioner to impose a fine or suspension for any "conduct detrimental to the integrity of, or public confidence in, the game of professional football."
No doubt Vick has met this criteria
I also am not naive enough to belive that money won't drive the decision of the Commissioner. Vick generates a lot of money for the NFL. If he is gone the whole year, that is going to put a dent into the league's pocketbook. That's why I say 4 games. I personally think he should be put in the cage with the dogs and let him fight it out. Sounds like a good pay-per-view to me.

Euphoria 05-17-2007 01:30 PM

If he fights with the dogs, he'll rush for 100 yards but throw 3 Int's dogs win 33-17... I haven't figured out how he got the field goal yet.

You really need to see her in action, top notch.

ssmitty 05-17-2007 03:03 PM

it doesn't matter what amount vick brings in the league....
for once, i don't think money will be the issue.......
first off, vick denied doing anything or knowing anything......
a tape or picture that places him there is worth all the money he owns and more....
it is a felony to have dog fights in virginia.
and just the fact that goodell told him there would be discipline for him just being the owner of the house is a no nonsense approach for not putting up with any excuses...basically, he was told he'd be held accountable......
now, if someone places vick there after he denied it, out the window goes his career, his endorsements, and possibly he may look at real jail time if convicted.........as baretta use to say, don't do the crime if you can't do the time..........

scott406 05-17-2007 03:59 PM

Too bad Baretta isn't the Commish.

Vick is one Grand Jury indicment away from being gone the whole year if not longer, barring that, he will get about 4 games. Let's face it money talks and Vick puts butts in the seats and cash in the hands.
I am with you, I hope I am wrong about this.
Watch the media on this it will be interresting to see what they report and what they ignore.

hagan714 05-19-2007 07:18 AM

Add congress to the lench mob

A California congressman has joined the cause against Michael Vick, firing off a letter Friday that urged NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to "act swiftly and forcefully" if the Atlanta Falcons quarterback was involved in dog fighting on his former property.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/footb...man-vick_N.htm

Ok this is getting really good. will vick make the state of the union address next?

CheramieIII 05-19-2007 07:48 AM

I was just reading this story Hagan and it appears to me that the Falclowns owner should just waive him and get it over with. Do you know what it says for the Falcons organization everyday that they hold out hope he won't be suspended or bannished for his actions or even worse that once again Mr. Vick had no knowledge about what was going on in his house. Next they will find the tape of him watching some dogfights and then he will get about 4 years in jail, a guy in Texas just did for the same thing.

This is getting really ugly for Vick but more importantly it is really starting to look bad for the organization and the NFL and what they are both willing to do for the almighty dollar.

What does this say to Pac-man Jones, if the NFL holds out until there is actual proof on film? He didn't even get arrested and he got the boot. I think that since Vick was the owner of the house, and the crimes occured there he is guilty by association, therefore he is done for the year, and so too are the dirty birds.

I told you guys, that PETA was going to get him.

Pacman has been arrested, just not convicted. Big difference.
