I don't see why people keep bringing up Pacman Jones when discussing the possibility of Vick getting suspended.

Even though Pacman Jones had not been convicted of an felonies, he had been arrested and/or questioned by police 10 times in a few short years regarding felonies - some very serious. If a person gets arrested this many times or is a person of interest or suspect in this many crimes, there's a serious problem with the person's actions. That person is doing wrong things to be put in a position like that and that warrants being suspended because it helps make the league look like it is full of criminals. I think it is easy to suspend a player with a record like Pacman's.

With Vick even though there looks to be some evidence against we really haven't seen any. I believe that he's gilt of dogfighting, but I haven't seen anything that proves it yet. Vick hasn't even been arrested over this. Thus, I can see taking a wait and see attitude on it - as far as a long term suspension goes.

However, as many times as he has been in the news the past 6 months for various bad things, I think he already deserves a short suspension. But I might be biased since I'm a Saints fan and extremely sick of his smug attitude and the way game commentators go on and on about him all the time.

when the evidence is finished being collected, and charges are brought....he needs to be locked up for years...

I don't agree with suspending players for off the field problems.

With all due respect:

The players are role models on and off the field... they should be held accountable on and off the field. No one is bigger than the game. They represent the NFL and if the NFL says this behavoir will not be tollerated than so be it.

If a player gets a DUI or gets in a fight at a club that's one thing but when a player such as Vick (If found guilty) is accused of dog fighting (animal abuse) then the NFL has to punish players to try and stop others to do unlawful things to protect they're image because it would really get out of control, I would think that most players behave themselves in order to not have money taking away from them, if not punished how bad would it get in the NFL?
Animal rights must be all over this story, they would want to make an example out of Vick if found guilty I would think..

I also do not believe that these players did what they say they did. I think it is just profiling. Sometimes I wish there were separate leagues for us.
