On any given Sunday any team can get beat, whether it be by bad coaching or the players not performing up to their talent. You can\'t blame bad coahing all the time. The coaches can\'t make plays for the players.

He ran a good ship, evaluated talent well, and had an effective system. He just couldn\'t keep adapting to the changing game and left coaching when he couldn\'t continue that. If you think for one second if Laundry couldn\'t come back with Roger Staubach, Dorsett, Drew Pearson, Preston Pearaon, Ed Jones, Randy White, Charlie Watters, and company. You need to think about the way you evaluate talent and coahing!!

Good call Lumm. Play recognition was one of our biggest problems last year. I too noticed how many of our Dlinemen ran right past the guy with the jewel in their mad dash to the QB. This is a major issue. Also the screen ate our lunch, on both offense and defense, last year. That is another area of concern. Faster players should help that on the defensive side and that\'s what we\'re talking here on this thread. I like Kenny Smith an awful lot. He was a real force in college. Sometimes a guy has to sink or swim to find out what they are really made of. Hopefully Kenny will swim like I think he will. If he doesn\'t then yea he is a back up and nothing more. With all of this said it must also be taken into consideration that our LB\'s will have more blitz packages this year and this should improve a pass rush. Stopping the run up the gut is #1 though.
