John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports contract talks between the New Orleans Saints and WR Robert Meachem have picked up and Meachem could be the next first-round draft pick to sign.

Thanks joe. I was going to start a thread about him because i have heard nothing in a while. Any update on the knee?

A friend and I was just talking about it today hoping he would sign very soon.

The last I heard was that he is ahead of schedule on his rehab and is running but not making the cuts just yet. I can't remember where I read it but i think it's good information. The surgery he had isn't that bad,I've had 4 on my left knee and one of them was the same as he had. it's pretty easy to recover from if you do what they tell you. I look for him to be ready early in training camp.

"From a rehabilitation standpoint, the time frame we're looking at is real conducive to getting him back for camp so he doesn't miss any time at all," Payton said.

if he signs and the knee is ready for camp,, that would be outstanding!

I think he will be ready and the Saints offense will be the best in the league. I can't wait for TC to begin.
