Steelers Super Bowl win from the year before qualifies - the officiating in that game reeked of Donaghy!

I don't think Argentina's World Cup championship should be on this list. The goal was a blown call, sure, however, it didn't end the game, and Argentina still had to win 2 more games to win the Cup.

I don't see how Nykesha Sales deserves the record. Is the account in the article accurate? If so, what they did is not different than what Favre did for Strahan (which sickens me). You can't blame Strahan, but I lost a lot of respect for Favre that day.

Both coaches should have been fired if they did allow Sales to score uncontested and then a reciprocated score for the other team. That's point fixing, is it not?

Either way it is an unearned record in my book. (Again, I am relying on the details of the event from the article. If it didn't happen as stated, correct me.)

It happened as stated. I'm not going to sit here and defend why she deserves it, but I watched her for years and I just feel she deserves it. Even with her cast on, I bet if her coaches were to let her play, she would have hobbled onto that court and played. That record was hers to break.

This is the way I look at it.

I watched Derrick Nix of Southern Miss, get absolutely robbed of becoming the all-time rushing leader at USM. How is this relevant? Because a hospital srcewed up giving him an I.V. and destroyed one of his kidneys, leaving him out for an entire year. His last season, last game he only had to earn 50 something yards during his last game; he finished less than 10 short. The coaches were trying to get the ref's to place the ball, so play could continue. The ref's drug their feet....clock ran out.....and a guy who lost his pro career to a mistake lost an honorable title.

I don't see an injury being something that should stop a person from making 2 points...the girl earned it.

Well I agree with both sides of the argument
But right is right and you can put it another way

It does suck to bust your @$$ all season just to miss a record because of health reason but the person that originally set the record was able to do it and stay healthy.
And she should have been expected to do the same

As to the whole Strahan, Favre issue. Well that one that will be debated for a long time to come
because we will never know if that was deliberate or not

However if it was well then that is simply sad because it’s like running a race and if some one is faster then you they are simply faster. Lets get real if I’m wining a race do you honestly think I would slow down just to let you catch up
Hell no I’d keep right on running
Just like the guy that originally set that record too…
He earned it.
It was not given to him

I think although she worked hard for it and there is no doubt that she did
In the end it we simply an act of compassion and should be removed from the record books.

The whole point of keeping track of a record is so someone else can come along and push himself or herself equally as hard and try to brake it

Allowing someone to have a title that is not something they truly earned is in my opinion
teaching people that it’s ok to just get close

and we all know in life close just don’t count unless your talking about horse shoes or hand-grenades.
