Unhappy Rob NIk? injured

I just heard that Rob Nik? our back up defensive end was injuried in practice. It was his knee but the guys on 870 weren't sure if it was the same one he torn up last year. He was seen carted off. I hope it isn't a serious injury, we can use this guy to spell Will and Charles. He was a beast before he got hurt last year.

Re: Rob NIk? injured

Sean said it wasn't the same knee he injured last year. He also said he didn't think it was an acl injury or platella.

This injury does not seem to be one that will keep him out too long.

Re: Rob NIk? injured

--One player who hasn't been seen very much with the first group in any period has been linebacker Brian SImmons. The Saints' marquee free-agent acquisition during the offseason, Simmons has apparently been slowed somewhat during the first nine practices by a lingering knee problem. But knee problem or not, SImmons isn't even hanging around with the first group very much. It spoke volumes that Fincher, not Simmons, was in that first group observing Tuesday morning.
I hope Simmons gets better... I'd really like to start with the first unit. That's encouraging news on Fincher though... maybe he provide something for our team this year.

I hope Ninkovich gets well soon. We could really use a pass rushing specialist. We could move Grant inside on 3rd downs if someone steps up... we could really use the qb pressures and sacks.

I hope Simmons gets better, and I wonder if the Saints could get Rice, who the Bucs cut last week.

Much better news than first thought when they were carting him off the field; could've wound up like last year!
