If Deuce is out...........

for the season. What about signing somebody like Cory Dillon?

I'm fine with Bush starting with Stecker and Thomas relieving. Stecker has shown in the past the capable of starting when needed and lots of fans like what they've seen in Thomas.

I'll pass on Corey Dillon. We couldn't move the ball with Deuce back there... Dillon is older and slower.

If Duece is done then someone else will have to step it up. These guys are professionals. They get paid to be ready...and now its time. Perhaps the fall of the Duece willl be a rallying cry for the rest of the guys to suck it up and play with some heart: begin to make some plays.

Done and done.

ESPN - McAllister says MRI shows torn knee ligaments - NFL

Here is some salt for the wound... A sad day. And let the speculation continue.

I'm an Ole Miss fan. Deuce was injured of and on when he was there. I kept hoping for the best but knew that sooner or later it'd catch up with him. Sucks because, he's a good guy and a great player when he's healthy.

That being said, we need another banger. A guy I like a lot is Jacob Hester of LSU. Has good speed, always is moving forward and has good hands. Good blocker as well. Has the mentality you look for as well. We won't have to spend a first round pick to get him either.

I hear ya bro. It's hell being a Saint and Tiger fan...ain't it. Makes you wish you could put the Purple and Gold in Black and Gold.

as as replacements, how bout Payton pulls a trade for one of his old "boys". Marion Barber seems to entrenched as Dallas's starting running back and I hear Julius Jones is unhappy right now with them. Maybe offer a second round pick for him. Dont know how much left on his contract with Dallas. If not much, then the offer could be less of a pick. anyone knows how long Deuce has left on his current contract? If near over, that could influence a deal. here is his NFL player page:
Julius Jones

Re: If Deuce is out...........

Folks....if Duece is out.....it won't change much of anything. First and foremost let me start by saying that I have and been and always will be one of the BIGGEST Deuce supporters out there. But, with the way the o-line is playing and in truth the way he has been running this year....his being out won't change much. To be honest....I don't know if its just me but he tends to look slower and slower each year. I know that sounds kinda obvious because he is also getting older but it seems to be a bit rapid for his age. Maybe, just maybe (and I almost feel sick suggesting this becuz we are having this discussion at the expense of his injury.) putting in a guy like P. Thomas might be good for a few reasons.

1. He is young and wants to prove to the world that he is for real.
2. Youth....the guy looked every bit as tough as Deuce AND a lot faster.
3. The unknown. Just like defenses did not know what to expect from Reggie last year....they won't know what to expect from him either which to some degree....may cause a little confusion in how to deal with our offense. (barring the consistently bad play from our o-line.)

I honestly feel kinda bad for posting this because I am a big fan of 26, but I guess we have no choice but to look at the opportunities that have presented themselves from this unfortunate event.

Fan since '89....throguh all the good and bad times....aching but hoping like most of you...
